Hotel La Trigueña

This is a no frills hotel but got "excellent" from me in every category because it was a comfortable, clean accommodation, with hot water and great water pressure, in an ideal location! On the Malecon with a Caribbean view from the pool. My room had a balcony facing the lot next door where they serve street food, with a view to the street and the town square across the street. You can comfortably walk anywhere in Centro, including Playa Norte. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely stay again!

The bed was very comfy. Thé room was clean and the staff was great and they reacted fast when we got an issue with the clim and the shower.

The shower was not strong enough

The best thing about this property was the central location and ability to walk to everything. There is a grocery store (Aki) right around the block from the hotel. The air conditioner worked well. They were able to give me a key to be able to use the safe in the room. This is important to me for valuables. Also the staff member Byron was very sweet/helpful although he speaks very little English!

You definitely get what you pay for! If you’re looking for all the bells and whistles this property is not for you. I would actually rate it two stars. The bed was not comfortable for me and the shower head is awful with hardly any pressure and maybe luke warm water. There was maybe a half a roll of toilet paper in the bathroom and I had to buy more. Also their toilet paper is all scented which I’m allergic to. This is also one of those places their pictures advertised are deceiving. The pool area is not near as nice with no towels, broken table, and only two loungers. Also it says on booking they only accept credit card and when I got there I was told they take cash. I didn’t know so I didn’t have the cash and used my card, well they charged me a 6% fee to use the card. I probably wouldn’t stay here again!

Clean, central location, comfortable bed, friendly staff

1. LOUD Music of permanent circus attraction played music with so much volume and bass the windows and walls shook from 6–11 pm 2.. NO HOT WATER 3. STREET LIGHT made the room lit enough to read ALL night.

The pool, the location, and night concierge - he was as helpful as he could have been.

The TV did not work, so we changed rooms, and the safe in the new room did not have a key. So no where safe to leave passports etc. No safe at reception. The room was never made up with clean towels. We had to ask for toilet roll, and dry towels. Dave plugged in the fridge and received an electric shock, not once but TWICE! The curtains did not block out the bright streetlight at night, shone all night. No facilities AT all for making Tea or coffee, no plates, cups, cutlery for light refreshment, not even complimentary water bottles.. Not clean. The shower was disgusting, it had hair in it, and there was pink bacteria all through the grout. Behind the bathroom door were dead bugs, which I cleaned up, and there was dust and debris, and a empty toilet roll under the bed. Very poor, and no value for money.
