Hilton Mauritius Resort & Spa

Very beautiful location, a bit aside from the main line of beach hotels, make it very quiet and calm. The atmosphere is very calm. The stuff is great and very helpful. The whole atmosphere is very nice , relaxing and friendly. No stress at any level Absolutely stunning view, very nice swimming facilities (boats, cayak,sup etc) Nice music in the evening.

The hotel is not new at all, so some rooms are a bit old-fashioned and shabby. We needed to change ours. The welcome cleaning was bad. But the staff made everything to correct the situation and apologised. Made a very good offer for room upgrade and change. The food is not the strong side of the hotel , especially the main restaurant. Sun beds are reserved by guests from 7 am and then people leave with no return, the hotel doesn’t regulate thIs issue. Those who look for luxurious 5 star hotel it is not the point. More tropical relaxed hotel.

The facilities at the hotel - pools, jacuzzi, restaurants, complimentary water sports, other sporting facilities, kid's club was a great addition, the spa experience was amazing Staff - very attentive and professional Food - great selection, Ginger Thai offered the best cuisine Location - the beach was epic!

The room - especially bathroom was not clean hot water kept disappearing from our shower we had to keep asking maintenance to sort it out AC didn't work very well - had to switch it off at some point Check in was lengthy, no welcome drinks after a long flight and drive from the airport

The staff was very nice and friendly. The property itself is very nice, with nice beach area and fun activities included. The food from the buffet was also nice

I did not like that they say the dinner in the additional restaurants (in addition to the buffet) is included, but in reality only a few plates of the menu are included. We went only once to the restaurants but decided to never return and just stay at the buffet which is very good. I also think that if they include dinner they should at least include something to drink. It was a pain having to sign the bill everyday for a 2-3 euro bottle pf water. I would recommend that for 2-3 euros, just make the customer happy.

Good choice of food and drinks with 3 restaurants and 3 bars. I really appreciated the adult only infinity pool which was quiet and with good background music from the bar.

A bit too crowded, so you need to book the two restaurants in advance.

This was our second experience in a five star hotel and needless to say, it was perfect! When we arrived, there werr staff waiting to receive us and they rang the gong. The best thing is their warmth and hospitality; I just have to mention their staff Melody and Vinash (not sure about the name); they were really friendly and helpful and we felt like one of their own. Other facilities were top, the breakfast and dinner was excellent. There was something for all taste buds. The common pool was not much but the jacuzzi and the infinity pool was really clean and well-kept. We enjoyed our time walking around the resort and the spa also offered discounts. On the day we checked out, they provided us a shower room so that we could freshen up before our flight. That was something I won’t easily forget.

The hotel premises do need some renovation. There are cracks in the corners of the doors and some of the wood was peeling off from the waste basket covers. But I’m not sure if it’s intentional and they want it to remain antique. However, when comparing to other new five star resorts, Hilton looks slightly old-fashioned. They could concentrate slightly more on cleanliness. The two a la carte restaurants are quite pricey but the food not worth it.

Facilities need some upgrading - but did not detract from the brilliant stay. Buffet could have more generous variety.

- Staff attitude - Breakfast buffet - Infinity pool & bar - Room with direct access to the garden - Little gym - Parking lot - COVID measures

- Evening buffet offers needs improvement in terms of offering and quality, - Club Sandwich was pre-prepared (withered salad, cold chicken & bacon😢 ) that’s a big no go

The ocean water was dirty. Apparently that happens when it rains. Asked staff for alternative locations nearby that had clear water and was told there are none when it rains. It's all brown water. That was false. Flic en Flac beach had crystal clear water while the ocean outside of Hilton was like cofee. Not being able to take long walks on the beach without crossing somewhat discugusting dirty river water was a big surprise. At high tide, you will get water waist high if you cross those river inlets. Would have been so easy to solve with accurate info and maybe even a shuttle that goes back and forth to Flic en Flac.

Taxi service is almost 3 times as expensive at the hotel compared to the money local people pay. The bath-tub in the room was not as clean as could be expected from 5 star hotel.
