Hotel Route-inn Yamaguchi Yuda Onsen

I liked the women's public bath, very well equipped with lotions, hair dryer etc. The desk staff were helpful in calling taxis. (I spoke no Japanese and they no English; we communicated via my phrase book.) Breakfast was generous, dominantly Japanese but with European continental choices.

There was no wardrobe or drawers for clothes (and I was staying for a week). There were a few hooks/hangers on the wall. I kept bruising my elbow on the door frame when in the bathroom (it was very close to the loo). There was no skin lotion in the toiletries in the room.

This is a decent business hotel with the bonus of a very pleasant 'onsen' bath which guests can use included in the price. The breakfast is very generous - lots of choices, Japanese style. If you don't enjoy Japanese breakfast then there are croissants etc on offer, however I'd recommend the Japanese choices! The room is comfortable, perhaps a bit on the small side, but that is normal in Japan and this is good value for money.

Possibly due to the continuing impact of Covid, I struggled to find places open to eat in the evening, and resorted to eating in the hotel cafeteria. The main problem I had as a foreigner with limited Japanese, was that they insisted I order food via a QR code that turned out to be difficult to manage. However the staff were polite and I cannot fault them - they did their best!

Comfortable, very clean, well located hotel. The breakfast was excellent. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom was good and very clean. We particularly liked the location, right on the main street with lots of restaurant choices. The university is a 40 minute walk away so we took the bus every morning (it was raining)—the stop is right outside the hotel. We strolled back in the evenings across the river. Altogether, we had a very pleasant stay.

The rooms are small—but very quiet.

The location was convenient. The set up of the room was comfortable. The breakfast had a variety of food and beverages. I especially liked the open-air bath.

The parking area could have more lights. It was difficult to distinguish the entrance.

The room is very comfortable to stay. Most importantly, the hotel provides hot springs to relax and enjoy.

A bit far from the train stations without accessing via buses, but not that big of a deal. Perhaps the breakfast could also be improved, in terms of variety.

A nice new hotel, with good facilities. The shared bathing area was wide and relaxing, and restaurant was good, and the room was nicely decorated. It’s also next to the bus stop for Akiyoshidou caves.

It’s a little outside the main town, but even then it’s next to a bus stop.

Typical Japanese business hotel: small rooms, but very efficient with everything you need and spotlessly clean. Convenience store next door and several restaurants within five minutes' walk

easy access by bus from Sin Yamaguchi station , the bus stop is in front of the hotel. good onsen ,breakfast and room rate . Thanks for the front desk lady referred me to the great and special local lunch : Tile fried noodles

Standard Route Inn hotel, on the large size. Ample car park, albeit very busy. Restaurants and shops nearby, Family Mart in front. Good breakfast buffet.

Hard bed and pillow.

The hot baths brought me back to life. The outdoor Onsen wasn't being used so I had the whole pool to myself.

I wish I could have taken home the robes. They were comfortable and fit really well.
