Hotel Route-Inn Yamagata Ekimae

amenities were excellent !The route inn is my hotel of choice when staying in Japan. I loved the public bath and the Japanese breakfast was exceptional. The staff in the restaurant breakfast area were so welcoming and polite, I have not experienced this level of service in 5 star hotels so 10/10 for them. There was one particular English speaking women who may of been the duty manager who was exceptional in both customer service and attention to detail. she is an asset to this property and her English skills were exceptional.

Maybe the male front desk staff could learn some English skills but other than that I can not fault the hotel.

Wide variety of options for breakfast, though best if you like a Japanese breakfast. Certainly did not go hungry, plus there is a big supermarket right behind the hotel. Very comfortable beds. Loved being able to leave luggage after checkout before going to Ginzan Onsen for the day. The location is very convenient to the JR station for trains plus also for catching the bus in the morning to Zao Onsen.

Great location, just behind the JR station. The staff was very helpful and our luggage was already in our room after we came back to check in later in the day.

The onsen was way too hot. The breakfast was okay not a lot of variety and air circulation in the dining area was poor. It had a very greasy smell.

Very friendly staff, delicious breakfast, enjoyed the public baths. Comfortable room with all amenities needed. Good food at the restaurant. Excellent value for money. Excellent location.

The early breakfast hours meant that a relaxed start was not possible.

Great location, cool little view, there is parking at the back of the building which was really cheap.

The mattress was very firm, and the pillow was too. Unfortunately they do not have soft (western) pillows. This may have changed though

The breakfast buffet was small and limited, and the hotel asks guests to choose a 30-minute time in advance.

I always go to Yamagata at the end of the year, but this time there wasn't much snow, but the hotel is very nice.

The only thing I didn't find very good was the Wi-Fi connection, very slow, other than that no complaints.

It was walking distance to the train station. The public onsen was big but can get crowded. The breakfast buffet spread was above average.

I feel that the front office staff could be a little more understanding and friendlier to foreigners who do not speak the language.

Location was great. Staff were friendly and professional. Room size was plenty big enough.

Only one pillow. I should have asked but it was late and I just wanted to sleep. Breakfast was ok but nothing special.

The breakfast. Actually was one of the best breakfast I ever had in a hotel. Japanese style breakfast, very very good. Staff speaks English very well. Really close to the train station
