When was the last time you went to a hotel and said, "this is the best smelling hotel I've ever been to....?" The Royal Park Canvas Hotel Kitahama is such a place. It's stunning as you walk in. Beautiful ambience and it is sparkling clean. Did I mention it smells really good? It smelt nice in the lift, the lobby and even as you exit the conveniently located subway exit/entrance, you can start to smell the beautiful fragrance from the hotel. 😁 The hotel has unlimited hot drinks for guests pretty much all day. Then there is happy hour between 18:00-20:00 where you can have highball (whiskey & soda) & wine. They have breakfast and it looks like quite a wide variety to choose from. After 10:00am when everything gets packed away they bring out the pour over coffee machine set up where you can grind your own beans and make yourself a pourover. Just fantastic. Never seen this type of set up let alone in a hotel. The hotel is very hip and the staff are very relaxed. They wear casual clothes and the whole place has that sense that it is about hospitality of the guest. It is just a very nice place to hang out. Guests have access to a very wide range of personal care goods, ranging from hair bands to shaving kits to a fantastic facial care kit. Comes with 4 stage foaming cleansing gel, facial foam serum lotion and a serum milky lotion by the Skin Delights company. Just wonderful stuff. Made my skin feel younger by the end of our stay. 😁😁🤭🤭 Rooms are decently sized. Of course this is Japan and room space is a premium. But there was enough space to manoeuvre your luggage around in the room. The bathriom was very pretty. The shower recess is kitted out with colourful mosaic tiles. Just so cool! If we come back to Osaka again we will definitely stay at The Royal Park Canvas Kitahama!
Nothing. Wished we stayed longer!

Kitahama station is right next door and was so convenient to take the Sakaisuji metro line. The busier Midosuji line is also just a 10 min walk away. It was conveniently located by good cafes and restaurants along the river. There is a Family Mart convenience store next door as well. The room is small and we brought smaller/medium sized suitcases and it was a bit of a tight squeeze to open them and walk around them. The bed was comfortable and we liked the shades which kept the room dark in the morning. We were able to store our suitcases in the lobby before check-in. We were also provided tokens per person, per night for a small drink. Free toiletries and other beauty supplies (brushes, hair ties, face masks if they didn't run out) were also provided in the lobby. We were able to do laundry for ¥600 per load. There are only 3 machines and they were often all taken, but we just had to wait until the next one was done. The best part of the hotel is the convenient location to the subway line which made it easy to get around Osaka.
We stayed there for 4 nights and they came to the room almost everyday to change the beds and towels. We put a Do Not Disturb sign on the door for 2 of the nights, but a note was left at our door the 2nd morning saying they needed to come into the room to clean it. Some people may prefer changing the beds and towels everyday, but it seems wasteful. I think it would be best to ask guests if they would like their room changed everyday or not, especially for a short stay.

The location of this hotel is fabulous - right outside the metro station and a convenient 7 minute walk to the other main metro line. Check-in was smooth and efficient, and the amenities were great (particularly the complimentary tea/coffee/hot chocolate and sheet masks, although these are clearly a hit and go fast). Lounge is nice and spacious. Room was spotlessly clean, and quite compact - although this is common in city centre hotels and it made good use of shelving to save space. Some cute decorative touches. Clean pyjamas every day was nice.
Minor point, but the loop of K-pop on a very large and loud screen in the lounge could do with a little more variety. Also, it would be to have bottled water in the rooms, or next to the complimentary hot drinks, rather than making guests ask for it at the front counter as I wasn’t the only one doing this.

Staff was very helpful in answering the many questions I had. I love the black out curtains as it helped with my jetlag. I also love the shower room and the convenience of being next to the train station.
I did not like that the washing machine didn't really dry the clothes. I wasted almost 1,000 yen hoping that the clothes would dry but they were still wet. I've learned my mistake after that and just dried in the room.

Nice cosy common lounge area with good facilities
Double rooms are small for two suitcases. We had to insist the front desk should handle our payment. Self service payment at vending type machine is not good service at check-in!

The hotel itself was very nice and the rooms were very good. They had a good size and the bathroom was very nice with a large shower area. The cleaning service was very good, too, and overall, the property was very neat, clean and had a pleasant design. The location is also convenient, given that right below it is a Metro station.
We did not like the fact that you had to check in and out, using their machines while staff was actually available. It seemed that Japanese guest did not have to do this, which seemed a bit odd. The breakfast was okay, but not great and you were expected to clean up your table after you finished, which should not be the case, if this is indeed a 4 star hotel as it is categorised on booking.com. The breakfast room, however, was very nice and had a very good atmosphere.

Room was comfortable and quiet, but a little small. The breakfast was delicious, and there was freely available tea/coffee/hot chocolate in the reception area for the duration of the stay. Hotel staff were lovely. There is a fitness centre too, although we didn’t get a chance to use it.
Location was easily accessible by train (with a subway entrance literally next door), but a bit distant from the main tourist attractions in Osaka (e.g., Dotonbori). There aren’t a lot of restaurants nearby for dinner as the area is more of a business district, but the hotel food was good value for dinner and yummy.

Close to station, easy to travel everywhere in Osaka. Shop right at the bottom, Early cafe next to building. Stuffs are nice.
Washing machine is not clean, cloths aren’t dry. I was charge for 2 more people without good explanation(I was with stuff that cant speak english but Im not blaming her, most stuffs can speak english) I book 2 rooms, 1 room have 2 beds, I don’t see the reason I should tell them about another guest. I been travel and stay in 2 different hotels and they not charge me anything. They ask how many guest and that was it. Anyway make sure to add another guest in your room when you book this hotel.

The hotel was conveniently located at the kitahama subway station with exit 3, being directly at the hotel entrance. The rooms were clean and the shower was great! There was also free coffee drinks and the fitness centre was well equipped. The blockout blind was also the best-if it was closed you couldn’t tell what time it was, it always looked like the middle of the night. The hotel was also very quite, though we did stay on the top floor, so I’m not sure if the people above could be heard waking around. You could also organise a late check for an extra 1000 yen, which was very helpful. There was also a family mart directly below the hotel, which made getting meals very convenient.

Superb hotel, loved my stay there and didn't want to leave. Stayed in the comfort room and for 1 person there was a lot of space. Great toiletries in the room (and to help yourself in lobby area) and the pyjamas were very comfy. Free coffee machine throughout the day was such a nice touch, as was one free alcoholic drink per night from a selection of 4 (sake, red wine, white wine, sangria). Great to be next to family mart and the station, and right by a lovely park. Could also ask for bottled water once per day at reception.
Nothing - it was all great
