JR Kyushu Station Hotel Kokura

We were VERY happy to find this hotel is IN Kokura Station. The lobby was on 7F, but none-the-less we were there right off the train. The rooms were very nice and the beds very comfortable. Great staff. Check-in was smooth, even though I had a credit card problem. They were most accommodating. One of the rooms had a great view. The other not so much, but had a balcony, so no qualms with that. Was nice not to have to leave the building to do anything but travel or sightsee. Many good restaurants and shops on site and nearby. Again the Staff went out of their way to assist us in having our luggage forwarded to our next hotel. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat! :-)

One room ended up being a smoking room, but it was all they had, and unfortunately no window nor balcony to open for fresh air. Great view, though. In both rooms, the climate control was locked, and there was no way to adjust the temperature or fan speed. Only turn the fan on or off. This made the rooms a bit stuffy. Thankfully, the weather didn't add to the problem.

The location is great. You are in the center of the city, close to all major attractions (Castle, market and etc.). Obviously, you are a meter away from all the trains and you are in the middle of two large shop centers. The breakfast was great (good amount of choices,, including fresh vegetables, and the test of the food was very good).

The room was very old and required repairs/renovations. The main chair was with stains. The ventilation in the bathroom didn't work, so it was full of steam after each shower for hours. I was visiting during Golden week, so there were no free rooms to exchange.

Excellent location at the Kokura station. Walking distance to lots of little eateries. The room was spacious and the beds and pillows were excellent . Everything was clean and of good quality, though the room looked sl faded. Parking was very convenient though we got lost initially as both Google maps and the car navigation system using mapcode directed us wrongly (wrong entrance). Good breakfast too ...

Adjacent to the JR. It is very convenient to the sightseeing and eating hot points. Typical Japanese small cozy room with comfort bedding. The view is also good.

The ventilation is poor. I place a small piece of paper tissues over the outlet of the air conditioner, and the tissues remain stagnant. A staff from the front desk came and examined it. After she phoned back to her office, the reply was "a quiet and advance technique for this air ventilation system."

The price was very economical for one night stay, especially given the prime location, spacious room and amenities from the beautiful refurbished lobby. I like it that there is parking attached to the hotel which was not mentioned in the description. The elevator just goes to B2 where the parking is.

However the room is quite dated. The room of the double room we were assigned to faced the inside corridor of the building.

Great location as we were on our way through - would've loved to spend more time in the city and the location seems perfect for most of the sightseeing. Staff was very helpful and communication worked even though our Japanese language skills are very limited. Added bonus: Wonderful view onto the city from the floor we were on!

Convenient. Connected to restaurants, station, grocery store, pharmacy, and mall. Great breakfast buffets They kept our luggage while we had a one day trip. They received our deliveries from store and called us when they got there.

Some of the rooms were far from elevators Hallway were dark.

The location is great for Kokura being steps away from the Shinkansen and JR train station. The buffet breakfast is outstanding with many options. The staff is very good and accommodating. I needed an accessible room which was very comfortable. There are great dining and shopping options minutes from the hotel.

Clean and modern hotel room with a lovely view of the surrounding area, very friendly and helpful staff, and the hotel is conveniently located (it is literally connected to Kokura Station and you can walk straight from the lobby to the department store restaurants).
