Hotel Villa Poseidon & Events

Located on a hill above the old city of Salerno the view stretched out over the entire city and it's bay and beyond to the beaches of Salerno in the distance. Breakfast was "all you can eat" with a full menu available. A great start to the day. The room (named Orchidia) was spacious enough for two and was very comfortable. It has a large veranda which affords the view as described above. All the staff (including Tristano at the desk, Ivan the chauffer extraordinaire) went out of their way to provide all the assistance that was needed. The location of the hotel was a short (and steep) distance from the ferries departing to and from all locations on the Amalfi coast. A short walk brought one to the centre of the old town of Salerno with all of it's alleys, Duoma, restaurants, museums etc.

Excellent view, overlooking Salerno city and the sea. Breakfast was really good with plenty of variety including yoghurt and fresh fruit. Our room was spacious and clean, had a wonderful terrace with a sea view! Best of all, the staff was amazingly friendly and helpful with all the requests we had.

The weather was really hot during our stay and walking the 200 stairs to the city and back might be a challenge for someone. The escalator coming up was surely helpful! Good shoes are needed anyway.

Convenience and accurate description of hotel on Booking.com.. We were driving from Lecce and decided to stop in Salerno for the night. The hotel is conveniently located off the highway with views of the bay. The hotel staff is exceptional and very helpful as he help check us in and brought our luggage to the room. Small elevator so it took two trips (first with people only and the second with our bags). We were able to walk into town for dinner. Room was spacious for 3 people.

Room was next to the road so it was a bit noisy but overall stay was great!

Nice views from the balcony off our room. Good breakfast and friendly staff. Nice hotel facilities and views of the water from everywhere.

Location was less than ideal for us since we had to rely on taxis and the hotel shuttle for transportation. Taxis in the city are hard to find so it was a pain getting back to the hotel from the ferry, train station or just a walk around the old town. If we had a car, it would have been perfect.

Nice place. Bed was hard which we wasn’t a massive fan of. Great black out shutters.

A lot of steps to get down to access the main strip although they do run a shuttle bus at 9:30 am. The escalator to get you back up the stairs was often broke although this has nothing to do with the hotel. Was just a pain to get back up to the hotel when it was broken

The hotel is situated on a mountain side overlooking the ocean and parts of the city, beautiful views and lush vegetation surrounding property!! Very relaxing and friendly staff.

It is a bit difficult going into town and coming up a lot of steps . So if you are not able to tolerate climbing stairs you better have transportation.

Staff was super friendly. Some of them spoke english and the ones that didn't, did their very best to make everything clear. Super staff! The breakfast was delicious, a lot off choice. Location is good, close to the city center and with a nice view. Yes you have to walk some stairs but that's not really a problem unless youre old i guess. Rooms were clean. Windows had shuttters so it was totally dark at night wich i loved. Airconditioning worked as it should. Would definitely go again and would have given them a 9 if we could swim :)

They were cleaning the pool the first day because of a lot of rain so we couldnt swim. Second day the pool was clean again but because there was fresh water in the pool, it was too cold to swim.

amazing view and Prosecco. had a free shuttle down to town and an escalator to get you back up if you came back at different times, pool was great, staff were super helpful and lovey.

although not a problem for us, the bathroom wall/door is a little translucent into the room, which we didn’t mind?, but thought it was worth mentioning to other travellers.

I had a very short stay, not long enough to enjoy properly the big room, its balcony, the view or even the swimming pool of the hotel. But it all looked enjoyable and I can keep it in mind for my next visit. The staff was very welcoming.

The parking solution goes downhill, sideways! So, it's quite tricky to get things in and out of the car or even getting the car in place. The exit from the hotel onto the main road is quite dangerous, due to the regardless traffic.

At arrival in Salerno by train there was a strike for taxi drivers. The hotel arranged pick up by mini bus at the train station and the check in was very nice. We loved the pool and the wonderful views! It is hard to reach to the hotel without car at arrival. But once you are there it is possible to reach town quite fast by stairs down and with escalator back.
