Grand Hotel Palau

The view from the room was beautiful. Overlooking Palau harbour and beach below. The room was adequate even though it was on the smaller side. The bed and linens were very good and the bathroom was large for the size of the room. The room and decor are very basic and of the style you may expect in the Greek Islands eg. white wash walls and blue trim. Breakfast was a good continental style breakfast. Plenty to choose from and start the day with. This hotel is well priced for the standard. The staff were excellent.

There is no cafe or restaurant at the hotel. Although you can get a beer or coffee. The WiFi was not good.

Our whole stay was magical, the location was excellent, the Staff were excellent and very helpful suggesting great restaurants and beaches for us too. The room was spacious and clean and the sea view out of our small balcony was nice too! The Bar was very well stocked and the attendant was a charming guy too, we had many a long conversation in the evenings. All in all they all made our stay a very very nice one :)

We booked a room with extra space for our daughter but in fact it was the same bedroom with 1 double bed and a single bed nearly touching each other

The location was great, even though it was up a steep hill, but the views of the port and the sea from the lobby were worth it. The staff were friendly and accommodating, gave us tips see some Islands. Rooms were cleaned daily. Breakfast with a view on the port. Common area with the same view. The bathroom was big.

Value for money, our room was small and basic, not much space to move around especially with luggage. The rooms were refurbished and clean but the hotel had it's best days in the past. AC made an annoying sound The garden view was on the tree roots with some trash :)

The bedroom balcony had an AMAZING view across the bay at Palau towards La Maddalena - it was a pleasure sitting and watching yachts and ferries on the blue, blue sea. The hotel has some nice design features, such as the wide wooden spiral staircase and the generous ground floor front terrace. Breakfast was also generous and of a high standard. The staff were lovely - friendly, helpful and kind. The beach was a short walk away, as were ferries and boats to the islands. The cafe at the end of the road was excellent and we enjoyed the night market.

There was nothing to complain of, but a full length mirror in the bedroom is always good - and some way of having hot or cold drinks in the hotel.

We had a room with a sea view and a terrace which was fantastic. It had to be the best view in the town! Lovely friendly staff on reception at the hotel. Comforable beds and room cleaned everyday. Good air-con in the room.

We had a room by the stairs (which was the only way up and down in the hotel), so it was a bit noisey purely through people coming and going. There is no lift in the hotel, so for people with mobility issues that would be a problem. You could buy breakfast, but we didn't. I don't feel they made the best of the fantastic views from the hotel, ie more seats outside and better 'bar' facilities. You could get a drink but had to ask the reception staff. The hotel is up a steep hill, which in the heat can be an issue.....however, its worth the sweat once you get there. I think the hotel was on the expensive side as it didn't include breakfast.

beautiful view wow! best view you could have in Palau. was near the haven and the ferry to the island. Also only 10 min walk to the citycenter. Personal was very friendly and gave us some very good tips for places to go!!

Room was not the same as on the Booking.com roompicture, which was a bit of a bummer. Was a lot smaller as we thought. Also we stayed on the first floor and downstairs they had construction workers, they started working at 8 AM and spoke really loud…

The view in the sea view room justified the entire price of that room - it was absolutely beautfiul. The room itself was good quality, for this star rating in Sardinia I would say it's even above quality as there was a refurbished bathroom, which is unusual.

The only issue I had was the wifi. It didn't work at all for me all trip. Aside from that everything was great.

The entrance of the hotel is nice and super luxurious, and the view of the balcony was amazing! Location was perfect, it was a 5-10 min walk to the city centre where all the restaurants were located. Also a great stay when you want to take the boat to La Maddalena the next morning.

The bed was quite hard and uncomfortable. Rooms were quite small as well, while the balcony is huge!

The hotel was really fresh and clean. Rooms cleaned to a high standard each day and staff were very friendly and attentive. Conveniently located too.

Our room was very close to where breakfast was served so it was really loud in the morning. The hotel is also up a steep hill which may be an issue for any older guests.

The staff was really helpfull and friendly, we could ask them for everything. Before our arrival we asked for a room with sea view and got it. The room was perfectly cleaned every day. The bathroom was clean and really large, there was always hot water and even the water pressure was very high. The view was amazing from our room, the breakfast area and even the balcony in front of the lounge. We just had to walk 8 minutes to the harbour, three minutes to the next supermarket. There was the possibilty of free parking directly in front of our hotel and we felt so safe that we even left our mountain bikes in the car. The breakfast had a bride variety for an Sardinian hotel.

We had a room without balcony and so we had the problem where to put our beach stuff after swimming.
