Lancaster Hotel

- staff is friendly and polite - location: not far from the center, ~15 minutes to the metro stations on foot, ~10 minutes to a tram - hotel building and interiors looks authentic - there were slippers, personal care products, minibar in the apartment

- water flowed from some pipe under the washbasin, only few drops, however the puddle was accumulated. I put a towel on the floor and it partially solved the problem - poor soundproofing, I clearly heard the neighbors who came at night, closed the door loudly, were being noisy in the apartment or the bathroom - there is only one elevator and it isn't too fast, but for me it's ok - I prefer to take the stairs, but for someone it might be a problem - although the breakfast was delicious, but not varied - almost the same set of products every day

The historic ambiance of the Hotel Lancaster was charming and made you feel like a local. The staff was friendly, genuinely engaging, and seemed to be interested in my comfort and stay in Milan. I felt safe around the area and it was ideally located close to cafes, parks and attractions. I enjoyed walking to the Arco della Pace, then thru Sempione Park, strolling through the courtyards of Sforzesco Castle, then on to the Duomo and surrounding area. The included breakfast was delightful! They know how to make delicious, soft scrambled eggs and yummy cappuccinos! I made a point of eating breakfast every morning during my stay. I would easily recommend the Hotel Lancaster for it's comfort, old-world charm & value! All the photos attached were taken within walking distance of the Hotel Lancaster!

There was not much to dislike, but I want to provide an honest review...my room was clean, but a little dated. For instance, the wallpaper in my room was peeling and in need of replacing. This is not a complaint but advice...the bed was extremely firm. Not bad if you like firm beds, but I don't. It made my hip hurt since I am a side-sleeper. Nothing that a mattress topper couldn't solve if available. The provided room safe was appreciated, but it wasn't bolted down to anything. Something that couldn't easily be fixed. And lastly, the street noise is prominent at night. I advise using a sound machine or earplugs - I used both and I was fine. All these issues were minor and did not detract from the enjoyment of my stay...

The Lancaster is one of the friendliest hotels we’ve experienced. The father and son who run this comfortable, well-situated property were exceptionally kind and helpful, from recommending routes and restaurants to directing us to a store where my wife’s phone could be repaired. The breakfast was copious and tasty, and the rooms small but immaculate and well-equipped. A lovely balcony facing the quiet street in a safe residential neighborhood (close to the many restaurants on the Corso Sempione) added to the charm. A special shout out to night manager Federico, who was never too busy to help us solve our travel problems. All in all, a very special stay.

Good location - Walking distance to Milano Center. Lovely Hospitable team Breakfast was good (although you need to tell the hotel the time you are going to be seated as it appears there’s limited space and they need to manage that)

All the team was lovely except for one gentleman that was working the night shift, he made me feel a bit uncomfortable and like he was judging me and my husband. The other team members we had interactions with really made up for feeling we got off the initial gentleman The hotel also has this weird nuance where you need to leave your key at the desk if your leaving the hotel, it would be nice if they explained the why

I was there for a conference at MiCo and it was an easy 15 minute walk from the hotel. Meanwhile, my husband was there for shopping and touring, so for him it was a pleasant walk through the parklands and castle grounds into the centre of the city, and yet the location was quiet and slightly off the main restaurant strip, but in easy walking distance. While our room was small, it had a balcony which looked out across the rooftops. There was a bit of a heatwave while we were there which tested out the air conditioning - resulting in the discovery that one of the motors had broken. The hotel leaped onto this and had a mechanic out within hours, and up on the roof trying to fix things. We were kept well informed at all times. While I didnt really eat breakfast, my husband did daily, and especially liked the coffee with the little patterns on top. The staff were all respectfully friendly and enjoyed a laugh - all fluent in English - and we left with a farewell gift from the hotel manager in recognition of our patience with the air conditioning issues.

While it was annoying the air conditioning stopped working, the response to this knowledge turned around a potential negative into a positive, and now all we remember is the great attitude of the staff, and not the problems we had.

I was unsure what to expect and wanted an affordable hotel. We were at the Lancaster for two nights and I would have stayed longer, if I could. The location worked and I loved the bar in the sitting area and the willing assistance offered by the staff. I feel we were well treated and this was an excellent value. I would stay there again should I get back to Milan. There are several really fine restaurants within walking distance and everyone was helpful to make sure we knew where to go to find these places. Yes, I strongly recommend this hotel.

The room could have been larger and the deck might have had chairs to be able to actually use it but I was still satisfied with what we had and it worked fine for us.

The staff were lovely and the hotel location is within a 15 minute walk of a beautiful park, Sempione castle and a further 20 minute walk to the Duomo/ shopping complex. The cleaners were very efficient and the minibar in the room was free. Breakfast was pretty nice- classic pancakes, fruit, pastries, cereals and yogurts. Overall the staff made this hotel experience amazing.

Our room was very small, didn't have a balcony or bath as pictured in reviews and unfortunately we were awoken on both nights by loud guests from 2-4am which wasn't ideal with our 1 year old, the walls are very thin and you can hear people showering and talking. Our air vent was also coming away from the ceiling and a plug socket was loose on the wall. overall the hotel room was in need of repair despite the staff doing their best to make the experience great.

Very clean room, except balcony and a bit dust on top of bathroom lamps. Comfortable bed, pillows. Extremely quiet even with a street view, has been sleeping really very well. Big bathroom. Location is not super central, far from metro, but still not too far away for a walk to the center and restaurants. Tram line is available nearby, but far enough to not hear any tram noise (they are extremely noisy!). Two parks nearby offer children playgrounds, very well received by our kid. Partner parking at reasonable for the location price. Exceptional staff, everything went smoothly.

Parking is rather far for an on-demand walk to the car, "park and forget". Room is tight, no dedicated entrance zone, shoes and stroller are left right at the kids bed. Air conditioner is directed straight to the kids bed, but probably only an issue for a triple room. But all are very minor imperfections though.

I arrived to this hotel in January with a friend after our airbnb was a disaster. It was amazing. We actually arrived at night upon day of arrival to see if they have rooms for next day, and we wanted to book directly but decided to book with booking because of Genius discount. (and I was tipsy from an Aperol Spritz). Next day we arrived and paid for breakfast and left our bags at the hotel, it was the light that saved our quick trip to Milan. upon Check in in the afternoon the guy working at the desk remembered me from the previous night and his face was happy to see that I wasn't drunk or that something horrible had had happened to me. This was really heartwarming. He likes Harry Potter which is always a bonus. The staff in general was really helpful and super nice. (I wrote a google review because my friend made the booking on his account). This time I made the booking for family visiting Milano and I am glad they too enjoyed their stay.

I liked everything... some places have a welcoming energy, this is one of them (unlike our Airbnb in January).

The staff was very hospitable and friendly, the room was rather simple but nice and clean. Breakfast was very nice and staff at breakfast was also very friendly. The hotel was not in the center of the city but a walking distance from the center. Globally the hotel gives great value for money as for the service and level the price was rather low compared to other properties in central Milano

Room was rather simple and small. The bedroom was small but at an acceptable size. The toilet on the other hand was extremely small at an uncomfortable size. The receptionist explained it is due to the old building which does not allow making changes to rooms.
