Hotel La Casa Di Lucio

I had an email on the day travel to say they were carrying out works at casa di Lucio, which may affect my relaxation and do they would upgrade my to their five star Sant Angelo Luxury Residence. I had a superior suite directly overlooking San Pietro. I also had a private balcony where I could take an early morning coffee before the day tourists arrived. The staff were beautiful. The breakfast was the best I’ve ever had in a phenomenal cave room.

There was nothing I didn’t enjoy about my stay.

We loved everything about this hotel. Very clean and spacious. The breakfast was superb, we were looked after by Micheal who could do enough for us. The breakfast selection was fabulous and fresh. Everything in the room was spotless, slippers, robes etc. Would recommend.

I would have liked drink facilities to make tea or coffee. I thought they should provide water free of charge. Prices for mini fridge were expensive considering we had paid a lot for a suite.

The location was just perfect, right in the most beautiful part of old historical Matera. Our room was even better in real life, than it was in photos. The bed and the sheets were really comfortable, loved having a bath instead of a shower, and the breakfast was lovely. (Be prepared for a challenge of currying the luggage anywhere in historic area of Matera - Sassi. It's a limited traffic area zone. The option is either to pay a lot for parking and take a shuttle bus, or to park on your own, and curry the luggage up and down the stairs)

This is a gorgeous and exotic hotel. Our was a cave artistically transformed into something other-worldly. We checked in late and there’s no reception after 15:00 but Michele the next day was warm and welcoming and makes an excellent breakfast. He saved this review.

Good luck if you’re driving. Finding the off-site parking lot was murder, and the assistance from the staff from the hotel’s other property that cover after hours was very weak.

This boutique hotel was amazing, room was gorgeous and very comfy beds. it was right in the centre of the sassi where you could walk and explore all of Matera with plenty of restaurants / cafes on the doorstep. The staff were lovely, in particular Michele who also prepared super breakfasts each morning!

Location is very good and the hotel has arranged for car parking in the new town with a shuttle to take us to the hotel. Staff were very helpful throughout our stay - especially when we lost an iPad and they located it for us - we left it on the shuttle. Breakfast was good and itWe had an amazing dinner at their Michelin Star Regia Corte restaurant which had 2 of the best dishes I have ever tasted.

The wonderful spacious room with bath tube and view to the church. The breakfast was for us truly special and unique, with an exceptional touch by Michele and his team. We liked that its a hotel comfort with a romantic air bnb (private) vibe

Hate too say because it was worth the money and one of the most comfortable places but you will find significant cheaper if you drop one requirement (like park shuttle, middle of historic city, church view, big bath, etc.) and still enjoy Matera.

Unique room with a fabulous bathroom. The breakfast was just superb, with a wonderful selection of handmade food and friendly staff.

No criticism of the property. What we didn’t like was on arrival the reception was closed we were told to go elsewhere but not given any directions and the phone number didn’t work The recommended hotel parking is unnecessarily expensive.

The hotel is very well located. Of you want to experience the cave experience in Matera, this is the hotel. we booked the suite as we wanted our stay to be special. it was clean and very well decorated. It felt luxury. We even had a valet brought us our luggage. Breakfast with Michaële in the morning was delicious. They had a variety of savory and sweet food for breakfast.

- The AC was on is the room where it was already cold. we tried to turn it down but couldn’t. - The bath tub in the room is very beautiful but not practical to shower

The Hotel is beautiful, in a central location and from the moment of arrival Michel was friendly, attentive and exceptional in his service, providing details of the accommodation and also the location. The breakfast and service from Michel and beautiful lady providing coffees and welcome at breakfast. We loved our dinner at RegiaCorte Restaurant as part of Hotel Sant'Angelo - absolutely divine! What a historic atmosphere, stunning scenery and location. Thank you
