Hotel Alberi

Stayed here for four nights last week. Great location near the beginning of Lecco. Taxi transfer from MXP was $130 euro and took about an hour. Can easily be reached by train as well (two hours from MXP, 40 min to Milan). Family run hotel with friendly and kind staff. Breakfast was plentiful but the same every day (pastries, cold cuts, cheese, fruit, hard boiled eggs and yogurt, etc). Great value and comfortable large rooms and bathroom. Had a room facing the lake which was lovely. Air conditioner worked well and they also have umbrellas to borrow if it rains. Good for exploring Lake como and it’s a 10-15 min. walk from train station. Also close to ferry to Bellagio but be sure to check the times (during weekdays only ferry in morning is 10:15 and the next is later at 2). Can take ferry to Bellagio and then take ferry from Bellagio to Varenna and take the train back to Lecco. Lots of trains Btwn Varenna and Lecco and lots of ferries Btwn Bellagio and Varenna. Also close to Malgate, which you can walk 15 min across the bridge.

….All was very good! Room was quite compact ..but very well designed so it functioned well. English-speaking TV channel (or two) would be great.

Location is excellent. You are right on the lake, and only short walk to ferry terminal and the town. Plenty of restaurants within a very short walking distance. Staff are very friendly and helpful. A big positive is the breakfast. Lecco is a small town, so breakfast options in town are very limited. The breakfast at the hotel is great, especially for a continental breakfast. We found this to be a big win. Rooms are very clean and cleaned daily. There is also a lift available. The hotel also can do transfers with their own transport which can be helpful.

The bed wasn’t that comfortable. Understanding this is a 3 star hotel so you get what you pay for, however an improvement of the mattress would really improve the experience. Depending on where your room is facing, if it’s out towards the lake please be aware that you will also face the main road. It can get quite loud at night with car/motorbike traffic. Generally after midnight this is not an issue. The above issues are not major, however just some suggestions and heads up.

family run small hotel managed by wife and husband the brother of the wife responsible for backing and was delicious and the mean time he is the driver of hotel shuttle we used to airport much cheeper from normal taxi by 50€ I asked for kettle and coffee and tea the provided only they don’t have coffee sachets , but don’t worry Carfour supermarket only 2 minutes walk Location is amazing unfortunately we had a room at the back but it makes no difference for us , as breakfast room on the lake Our freinds stayed in 4 stars hotel on the other side of lake But ours was much better location Breakfast was very good although without cooked eggs only boiled and no bacon or sausage but not big deal Plenty of freshly prepared food and fruits lots of items to fill you up The hotel is spotless And owner said they will upgrade area of reception We recommend this hotel Wishing the owners and all the family all the best Drs. Nothing major Only there is blanket on bed ,although between two spotless bed sheets , should be replaced by Duvet But we took it out and problem solved ( I got allergy from blankets)

Everything is spotless clean. The bed is very confortable. There are 2 confy soft pillows. Everything is at hand, normal european plugs near the bed, even a stool in the bathroom. The room was cleaned and tidied everyday and the towels were changed. Breakfast was rich and for all tastes and needs, gluten free, fresh red orange juice I liked most. The access to the superior levels is made by elevator. The hotel entrance faces the wonderful view of the lake and mountains I could enjoy in the mornings and evenings sitting on a bench . The last but not the least the staff is very friendly and helpful. I recommend this hotel to all my family and friends coming to the wonderful Lecco!

Everything was perfect for me.

The hotel is spotlessly clean and kept that way by the owners. Continental style breakfast also very good with everything fresh . Staff very friendly and helpful. Location is very good with a less than ten min walk to bus / train station and ferry station. Easy access to shops and bars . Would easily recommend.

Noisy air conditioning unit did not switch off one night which meant little full sleep but resolved by staff next day.

Lecco is an excellent location much better than the more popular Como. The room was huge with large wardrobe, large bathroom, extra pillows, extra blanket. the breakfast was excellent with enough choices of breads, cereals, fruits, juices, coffee and croissants. the owners are very warm and friendly. The cakes were baked by them everyday.

The room didn’t have a kettle but that’s quite usually with most Italian hotels

I was very happy that my room was ready earlier so I could left my luggage and have a change. Location is perfect - you will see the lake while breakfast. Room was big and clean. Huge thanks for cleaning ladies! There were some negative reviews about breakfast: yea, the variety of food isn't huge but believe me, this was the tastiest food I had. And desserts variety is huuuge! Coffee was great!

Fridge as loud as airplane on taking off(turned it off as far had nothing there)

The hotel is in a lovely spot, across the road from the lake and lovely views/places to sit. Room was comfortable and good size. Breakfast was delicious with several continental options available. Service was excellent - staff were so friendly and helpful!

The only thing I’d change is to have a plug socket/USB port near the bed so that I can charge my phone easily, but I appreciate that’s unlikely and also not exactly a dealbreaker (just bring a longer charging cable!).

The hotel offers nice and clean rooms with a fantastic position overlooking the lake and very close to the train station and the Basilica of San Nicolò. The staff was exceptional, very helpful and kind, we asked to check in earlier and they managed to accommodate our request.
