Looked stunning. lovely location. Quiet. Room was large and comfortable. sense of space .

It was very dark. perhaps just my room. Access to restaurant needed steep steps which at night, wasn’t easy, particularly in the rain. Many facilities closed or underused. staff didn’t encourage you to eat or drink outside even in lovely evenings. Seemed understaffed. Took over an hour to get someone to “open up” by the pool. Staff weren’t as obliging as many, possibly language issues. most struggled with English. food in both restaurants “so so”. food expensive for Tuscany. found much better quality outside.

Loved property, stylish, chic, great courtyard breakfast. Enjoyed swimming pool garden, very quiet and tranquil to relax.

Attention to detail for 5 star property/price of b&b could be improved. Eg kettle In every room. I have marked value for money based on dining experience already given to hotel. The Al a Carte looks stunning but equally has to offer customer experience to feel satisfied for the high ticket price/value and dishes available. I would recommend the cellar restaurant offers a greater selection available.

The stand out feature were the staff - every single one was friendly, helpful and always happy with a “can do” attitude. The best team that we have been with over many years of travel worldwide. The restaurant was good and everything - all dietary requirements - was, with no exception, too much trouble. Three outside pools and plenty of places for groups to sit out and also for a more quiet relax away from others. Some manageable walks out of the hotel which is set in beautiful Tuscan countryside. Our suite was excellent and the whole property was unique: a village unlike any we have encountered before. It is a Retreat more than Resort and a car is necessary to travel more widely or a very easily organised and reliable taxi through the hotel. Siena is within easy striking distance by car or taxi.

The location was amazing! Remote, picturesque and peaceful. It’s also perfect for exploring Siena, Montepulciano, Pienza and Montalcino (all are less than an hour away). The hotel has been thought about very carefully and is in-keeping with the monastery architecture, which makes a stay all the more relaxing. The staff, especially those on reception/concierge, were exceptionally attentive and had a great eye for detail. When we arrived we were upgraded to a different room because we were on our honeymoon-this was so generous of the hotel and marked them above the others we stayed in. The breakfast was very good, coffee was amazing too. The pools were great too-the perfect blend of relaxation and being able to swim! The pool staff were very attentive and looked after us beautifully. Dinner here was something very special indeed! The food was exquisite-up there in the top 5 meals we’ve ever eaten. The room was huge, immaculately clean and incredibly comfortable and with a gorgeous view of the Tuscan countryside. Bathroom was incredible too.

The hotel with no doubt is special and luxury. The staff service was superior. Breakfast was nice, nothing special to mention about.

The expectations from that kind of hotel is to think about all details including the small details to make the vacation perfect, and this perfection was missing. For example, there was no carpet at the entrance to the room (Which was directly from outside) so when it was raining we had to gi with wet shoes into the room floor. Closet was very unuseful and no way we could put our staff, as there was not enough room, in addition, there were no baggage stands, so we needed to keep most of our staff in the suitcases which we put on the floor. Bath room door was a slide door and we could barely move it. I asked to fix it, but it didn't happen. This criticizing is mostly for the hotel management attention.

As a friend said when I sent a few photos 'it looks glorious'. Beautiful surroundings in a place rich of history and elegance, a suggestive piazza where to have a delicious breakfast - and other meals if the weathers allows - and great rooms that have a wonderful mix of natural materials and modern comfort. Great mattress and pillows, the room was everyday spotless clean. The bathroom is spacious and has a fabulous rain shower, great hairdryer - for who has long hair it is important!!- and fluffy bathrobes of different sizes. There are lovely swimming pools with bar service and a Spa; ample spaces to practice yoga and wellbeing activities. But the best of the best of Castel Monastero Resort is its staff. Professional and attentive they gave me a warm welcome and they made me feel at home for the entire duration of my 5 days stay. Lead by the fantastic Resort Manager Graziella everyone from the reception to the housekeeping, from the Restaurant to the Spa, offers services of high standards and quality. Special thanks go to my Spa therapist Rossella for patiently bringing me back to life and taking care of my wellbeing in such a competent way that made me want to go back every day for a new treatment; to Elena the Spa Manager that was absolutely lovely and welcoming. To the fabulous Restaurant Manager Manuela that brilliantly leads a team of young professionals that did not miss a beat and spoiled me to fantastic choices of delicious delicacies, attentiveness and friendly conversations. And to Enrico, the sommelier, for almost converting me to red wine instead of white - maybe it'll take another visit to complete that!

Fantastic Location with beautiful surrounding views. Breakfast each morning was fantastic with a great variety of food to choose from. The staff upon check in were amazing and the lunch/dinner service was superb.

The bed was a little uncomfortable and the rooms were a little bit of a let down for the price.

Chosen for its peculiar concept ... an old monastic complex transformed into an epic hotel! The rooms were wonderful - make sure to request a room within the central building! In the beginning we were given another room, but they changed us to the central building which was fantastic! The breakfast was amazing and the setting was a true Tuscan landscape!

Hotel employees Where absolutely outstanding. They did everything they could to make our stay unforgettable. Even our dog (30 euros extra per night) felt at home and was more then welcome. Hotel itself is beautifully located and luxurious. Fantastic atmosphere and ambiance.

Management should take better care of it’s wonderful Team. Hotel staff has to wear dark suits and ties during their work (also in outside areas) even if the temperature is over 34 degrees Celsius. Thats definitely not the way how to treat your valuable staff. There is no coffee machine or kettle in the room. This should be standard in a luxury hotel of this price class.

The location, the retreat, the food was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed the pool area, and the outdoor and indoor dining experience. The friendliness and attentiveness of the staff was very good.

The rooms was a very odd shape, and frankly, very small for what was not an inexpensive rate. Also, the staff were enormously obliging, but very green. I sent an email before we arrived to ask the hotel to help us establish where we could have a test over the weekend, as we needed to leave early Monday morning for our flight, and I followed up on check-in to ask for the person at the check-in desk to help, as I had not received a reply. I never received a reply to my email, and the person who checked us in never followed up. Disappointing.
