Angolo del Poeta is an utterly beautiful B&B - the photos can’t do it justice. I stayed with my three friends in a family room, which was incredibly affordable, for two nights. We loved the traditional Italian loggia where we sat out for drinks, looking out on the immaculately kept courtyard (also where breakfast is served) - and all the delightful furniture! The staff were lovely and accommodating, despite our poor Italian. The property is perfectly situated on a lovely street in Bergamo, near several restaurants and an equal distance between the train station and old town - perfect for our needs. We had a fabulous day exploring Bergamo and can’t wait to come back.

The true old style Italy in your room.the room was large and spacious the place is full of antiques far nicer than a new plain hotel or b&b with all you need for a stay down to a kettle and a mini fridge.the bathroom was fine a big shower a featurestone wall.heating an air con available too.the premises was just off a cobble stone street. The team contact you with all the details to access the room and are only a phonecall away should you need any assistance. They even arranged an early morning taxi to the airport for us.

Our stay was too short. Will definitely be checking in again

The train station was only a convenient 15 minute walk. The station was also next to the information centre, which was fab because we were able to ask for recommendations for excursions. The hotel was picturesque and simply beautiful. We felt safe there and there was a shop literally next door for water etc. The reception lady was very helpful and friendly too. Although the hotel was family friendly, there wasn't much to do around the area for us with our children who are 3 and 6 years old. However, Italian ice cream saved the day!

No lift in the hotel, but to be honest I think it would ruin the overall look of the stunning hotel.

This was a quirky little gem that exceeded our expectations. Lovely big room and very modern bathroom. Aircon, fridge and massive TV but nice historic setting. Great breakfast and super lovely staff to serve it. Not in the touristy part of the city but a great neighbourhood, quiet and friendly with small supermarket next door and fabulous pizza restaurant across the road. Would love to have stayed longer than our two nights.

The carpark was a little walk from the guesthouse and a bit unsavoury if you used the stairs - would not recommend after dark.

The size of the room was impressive so if you travel as a group or a family of 2-3, it is what you need. It is a family-run hotel so if you have questions/concerns or want recommendations, you can always ask a Lady at the reception (breakfast hall) - she is very attentive and takes all the requests with care! I had a question about heating and it was fixed; i also overheard a situation how one of the guests had a health problem with his companion and the lady at the reception/breakfast really helped this guy figure things out with hospital or something like that.It was a good value for money, too! I also loved the breakfast - it was partly buffet style but you could also order eggs, cheeses (really good ones), meats, coffe/tea (all included in breakfast price). Lastly, i loved the location. I felt like it was a central but not touristy-central and there were some good restaurants super close to the hotel. I recommend staying in this hotel! Grazie mille!

ANGOLO DEL POETA defines itself as a "Bed & Breakfast", but definitely deserves at least a 3 star hotel rating. The atmosphere is very authentically Italian, with a large courtyard and open rear side galleries. A basic Breakfast is being served for only 6 EUR. WLAN works very well. The rooms are spacious, with Smart TV, some of them with balconies. This "B&B" is a full recommendation if you stay in beautiful Bergamo. From the airport it takes about 15 minutes by taxi (less than 20 EUR)

According to Italian bed standards there is only one, big light blanket for a double bed (which could become troublesome in winter)

Perfect location to explore Bergamo and the railway station. Room very comfortable. Great nights sleep. Excellent breakfast. Nothing too much trouble for the staff. Borrowed a USB charging cable as mine broke. Lovely old building. Instructions on how to enter the building were very good (see negative comment). There is a cafe opposite and restaurante Gennaro e Pia 2 minute walk away. Highly recommend the restaurante. English spoken by staff. Taxi to airport organised by hotel. It cost 20 euros in a Mercedes Saloon. 20 minute walk to the Funiculare to reach Citta Alta. Its a nice route through parts of the old town.

Instructions on how to enter the building could make it clearer that once you put in the code its the small gate built into the bigger gate that you push. We spent 2 or 3 minutes trying to work out why the (big) gate did not open. Had to unplug the mini-fridge at night as the motor was loud and disturbed our sleep.

Very large and comfortable room in a building filled with history. Lovely outdoor space to have breakfast or just to sit. Breakfast was plentiful and very good quality, terrific value for money. Staff were charming and very helpful: excellent service. lots of bars, cafes and restaurants around and a very interesting 15 minutes walk along Via Pignolo to the upper part of the city:also only 15 minute walk from the railway station. Very highly recommended.

I would put even 10 if not bad room service. We had a large room with balcony, very attractive. Location is good and hotel parking is possible in 3 mins walk. We did not have breakfast in the hotel but there are plenty of cafes and restaurants around.

Room service requires really some training. Our bed sheets were screwed up and not done properly - we had to make our bed ourselves! Next day we returned at around 3 p.m. and room was not done yet. 2 mins later cleaning lady knocked the door but we were tired and wanted to get some rest. It is not a huge hotel, quite small actually, what did take so much time? WiFi was not strong enough, you have to search for a place with better signal level in the room.

A great bargain for a comfy stay at Bergamo. The room is spacious and clean. Staff and host are both very helpful and flexible. The location is rather far away from the upper city - approximately 25 mins walk to the Funicular station uphill. But you get the chance to explore a bit the lower city along the way. We came by car and needed to park one block away in a secured parking house with an extra fee. But we think it's still a good bargain, as parking is rather hard to find in the city and costs just as much, if not more.

There was some kind of noise heard in our room (maybe the electric boiler?) and the air con was slightly dusty.
