Yogyakarta Marriott Hotel

* The hotel's staff was incredibly friendly—from cleaning personnel to the concierge, check-in staff, pool staff, restaurant staff, and management. Crossing the lobby was a walk full of receiving and giving smiles and bows. * The spacious room offered enough space to spread out our things. (We had the standard guest room.) * The pool area is nicer than it looks in the hotel-provided photos. Different beds and two pools are available—one for swimming and one with massage jets. You can directly access the bar from the pool. * Every driver in Yogyakarta knows the Marriot, which facilitates pickups and drop-offs. * The hotel is close to Yogyakarta’s ring road. This makes reaching from YIA and for trips north (towards Borobudur or Merapi and Merbabu) easy. At the same time, it takes some time to reach the city center. Adjunct to the hotel is a big mall with multiple food, shopping, and groceries offers. * The breakfast is the big highlight. The breakfast buffet offers anything you can imagine. There is sushi, ice cream, popcorn, different types of waffles, varying Indonesian food, multiple juices and smoothies, cheese, sausages, eggs… My only complaint is that the offer was too extensive to taste everything during our stay. The breakfast alone is a reason to stay at this hotel.

There is nothing to dislike about this hotel.

Pleasant hotel, decent swimming pool, very solid rooms, quality breakfast, and an extremely friendly employee in the business center who printed out pages for us for work for free even though there was some kind of price list. I forgot her name but I took a photo of her and here is her picture below, thank you again and send her kisses!

we arrived at night by rental car from Semarang to Yogyakarta, and it was a bit difficult to find the turn for the hotel, and then the entrance to the hotel parking lot, it's quite poorly marked. In the end, we managed to park in a large mall that is adjacent to the hotel complex.

The hotel is adjacent to one of the biggest Mall in Yogyakarta really, convenient. The breakfast is boasting traditional foods as well as international varieties and I can testify that the traditional ones are of original taste and really enticing my childhood memories. The rooms are spacious and when I ask for rooms to be close together, they actually gave me connecting rooms.

The housekeeping staff took my laundry without adult permission, they asked my daughter which has limited Indonesian language. Fortunately the duty manager returned our laundry with apology and not charge us a dime (otherwise, the charge would exceed the value of the laundry itself I assume).

once again, Marriott has just the most amazing staff working for them and there breakfast buffets will go down in history

rooms have bad insonorisation: could hear my neigbores talking and baby crying all night. Its not Marriotts mistake but Yogjakarta is a horrible town. So its great to hide in a luxury Hotel oasis. Lucky for booking.com that THEY have such an easy and fast website. Because even for Marriott members, Marriott Website is a desaster. Thank you booking.com to think like a guest when you make your Website and NOT like a IT nerd. You deserve every cent usless Hotels have to pay to you

It is what you would expect of a Marriot, mostly it was a great stay, fantastic aircon, good bathroom, good location, great staff

There were 2 broken lights, one in the bathroom which kept blinking all night, impossible to turn off and one right above the bed which was also on all night with no chance to turn it off. It really disrupted our sleep. The bed, while wide and comfortable, was very short, my feet were at the edge of the mattress which also was not really helping with sleep

I actually don't know where to start first: - The overall super friendly, warm and helping staff. Every single one of them greets you with a genuine smile and a small chat. - Big and very clean room with a great fluffy bed, perfect shower, good AC and all amenities you would need. - Housekeeping staff (in our case Ana/Fiki) goes above and beyond to keep your room tidy every single day. The hotel is spick and span. - Chef helping my wife at the saturday night grill, explaining all the veggie dishes and making a special veggie pasta to make her happy. - Never seen such an extensive buffet breakfast with a lot of western options. All coffees are possible and made with a smile. - Large pool and very well equipped gym. Both areas are very clean at all times. - Helpful reception and door staff. Overall a great 4 night experience thanks to ALL the staff!

Absolutely not a single thing!

Everything, the room was very clean and big. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is near the mall so we can just walk to the mall as well.. I’ll definitely stay at this hotel again if I visit Jogjakarta again.

We booked a room with city view and we didn’t get the views.. first we got the room with the back side of the hotel I think, it was some pipes and wall ( we got first floor) and plus it was 2 cockroaches inside the room and some mosquitoes as well and we went and complain about the cockroaches and mosquitoes and we get another room but not the city view room but swimming pool view. But it doesn’t bother us as long we got a better room without the cockroaches and mosquitoes, but overall it was amazing staying at the hotel and I’ll definitely staying again here!

Everything was above expectations - Hotel staff were always kind and attentive - Enjoyed the breakfast - great selection of authentic food experience and the counter staff guiding as needed. - Pool and gym great - The mall next door is handy, especially if you are looking for a quick bite. - as single female traveller felt completely relaxed

There was no dislike, sharing in case it helps plan better - the hotel doesn't have travel agent desk to help organise day trips, for that you will have to rely online. Hotel will offer taxi or private car service - While it might not be very close to city centre/Maliaboro, I didn't mind the 20 min commute to experience life in Jogja.

The fitness center was great, When I came there the weather was cold, it was raining season. But the pool didnt have a heating one or I just failed to ask but either way it would be great if there is a heating pool. All the workers are friendly and helpful, and I enjoyed the stay. There are various types of breakast cuisine which was also nice.

There is only 1 road to go to the hotel but it is filled with holes. Its a shame that to go to such a good hotel, the road in front of it was so bad. And it can be dangerous too during the rain since you cant see the holes with all the water in it. The road has been that way for so long and its just sad that the hotel does not try reach the authorities and help.

1. The clean and spacious bedrooms. They provided us two rooms with a connecting room although we did not ask. We appreciated that! 2. The selection of food is great. All tasted delicious especially the local cuisine like gudeg, ayam kremes, and jajan pasar. 3. The staff was quite friendly.

We were called by the reception at around 8 pm when we were having dinner at my parents' room (there were four of us). We were having usual conversation with my 65+ year old parents and were not having any alcohol. And it was still early (8 pm). But we were asked to lower our voice after a complaint from the room next door. My parents were a bit offended especially my father who is a very quite and calm person. By 8.30 pm my parents have already gone to bed. So we did not understand the baseless complaint at all.
