Karibia Boutique Hotel

Very friendly and helpful staff at the reception. Rooms with electric kettle and cups. Tea, coffee, and water was replenished each day. Very clean. Room size is fair. 5 mins walk from the station. City centre in convenient walking distance. Good base for exploring Medan on foot. Outstanding daily varying breakfast buffet with a wide variety of cold and cooked dishes to choose from (including spaghetti Bolognese?!). Unfortunately it was so much, it was impossible to try everything.

Rooms are noisy, but during the night the hotel was quiet and noise from the street was minimal. Some rooms have windows facing the narrow inner courtyard. Rooms "with a view" come with a surcharge an need to be explicitly booked.

There were a few issues but irrelevant to discuss due to having the pleasure of meeting Bambang Harsoyo (room division manager), one of the most professional, understanding individuals I have come across, he demonstrated great empathy from being apologetic and resolving my issues. He upgraded my room and arranged a lovely gesture (see the image). Karibia Boutique Hotel needs to promote this man! My ratings are based upon his professionalism. Bambang is the blueprint for success for any hotel. Thank you, my friend 👊

Nice modern decor, very clean, windows to air well only, spacious, connecting room for family is available. Right next to a mall that has everything you can think of. Spa was super nice and reasonably priced - but need reservation in advance. Staff were pleasant. Cafe downstairs was great with very nice food and coffee selection. Walkable distance to Pasar Ikan and Central Market.

The reception only provide 1 key card for the room, you need to as for at least 2, because the lift needs card to go up. The area outside the hotel, facing the front was chaotic and typical.

The location is very strategic. The bed was comfortable. Easy access to the mall. The staffs were very attentive. Overall good hospitality. And i fell safe walking from the train station to the hotel and to the mall.

Quite far from the city center (walk) we didnt noticed that actually the happening side is at the other side of the city (near marriot, pahlawan etc) however it is easily reachable if by grab and others.

Location, it is right next to a Shopping mall with lots of good restaurants and 200m from Tengah lot of restaurants in a park. It within walking distance

Access by car is a little problem, due to the city road works, as a foreigner, one will struggle to find the way around as road directions change daily at this moment

Super comfy room, good location. Walking distance to a mall, and also train station. Staff were very pleasant and accommodating. There is a spa in the hotel premises too, was such a pleasant surprise. A row of textiles shop in the back, good for people looking for materials etc. Would definitely recommend this hotel!

Cheap stay close to the Train to the Airport, clean, nice staff. Great various selection of "Indonesien/Asian" Breakfast. Almost no "continental" Breakfast.

The shower and the showerhead had a lot of black spots, a thorough cleaning would be in order. The Breakfast was lacking some continental options

i love the body massage service ! after long walk thru the shopping mall , i feel relieved and extended in this hotel for another couple night ! this price reasonable aswell, so i got no reason to not staying here :)

Breakfast was great. Love it that it was close to the mall. The front desk personnel were very helpful. Everyone was friendly.

Maybe, offer more Western style breakfast? Also, provide some variety in the drinks.

Location near a mall so easy to get food. The room clean and the staff also helpful.

Small parking so most of the time you need to leave key with security. When it's a rental car, a bit inconvenient as you will be responsible if anything happen to the car.
