The staff were excellent - GilGil was always nearby to provide any assistance needed and every request (mainly for activity bookings etc) was responded to very quickly. We upgraded to beach cottages on arrival and they were superb. All food and drinks were very good.

Only slight downside was that the beach directly in front of the rooms, while very pretty and a great spot for reading, snoozing or watching the monkeys, deer and other animals wandering past, isn't really suitable for swimming as the sea there is extremely shallow. A better spot for swimming is just a few minutes' walk away next to the jetty.

There are simply no words! We had a perfect 6-night stay at the Menjangan and we are so sad to leave it. Some highlights (of many): - The staff are simply terrific, and miles above our previous experiences at luxury resorts: attentive, quick, very kind, and extremely helpful, all whilst being very unimposing. We were given two handwritten and personally signed cards congratulating us on our honeymoon upon arrival and check-out - Gorgeous (and huge) beach villa, with stunning views all day long. There is a real sense of peace when waking up in what sometimes felt like our own desert island - Exceptionally comfortable bed - I cannot stress this enough, particularly as am writing this review from our next hotel, which is much more expensive and with a terrible mattress - Great facilities in the room - good AC, large shower and bath, super comfy seating areas, homemade cookies provided every day - Great shared facilities - Monsoon Lodge pool is lovely and feels like a hidden secret (particularly when you go in a low season and you have it all to yourself, save some menjangan deer!), Bali Tower views are grandiose, and everything is well-maintained. - Fantastic selection of activities: we went bird watching with a terrific tour guide, snorkelling (saw two sea turtles), snorkelling off the jetty (saw a sea turtle), and I had an amazing Balinese massage at the Mangrove spa (full of little surprises, like the mirror underneath the massage bed so I could see the ocean during the massage). There is lots more to choose from - diving, kayaking, horse riding.. - Great food and possibly even better coffee - Brilliant housekeeping - turn down service the best we’ve ever experienced

Every staff member was absolutely wonderful. Eager to please and arrange everything for you, and so happy and polite. Can't say enough good things about the staff. Nice quiet beach villas with monkeys, deer, squirrels, birds wandering past on the beach in front of the room. Big comfy bed, BIG breakfast included. Good food, low-cost happy hours. Snorkeling at Menjangan Island, and even at the resort jetty, was amazing. Sea is placid here - no surf. Day trips by car to waterfalls, lakes, temples, coffee plantation, mountain-top restaurant, all wonderful.

This is a classy resort situated within the West Bali National Park. We stayed in the Monsoon Lodge which had a spacious bedroom and bathroom with excellent facilities. The resort had a beach restaurant and a tree-canopy tower restaurant which were both superb. Chefs and waiters went out of their way to address our dietary requirements. All staff were very friendly and professional. We requested a birdwatching trek and a jungle trek, and were lucky enough both times to be assigned the very knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide Alet.

Bali’s hidden gem! Probably the only accommodation where we’ve stayed twice for a vacation. The Menjangan truely has it all; helpfull and friendly staff, great sunset views over the forest, tastefull a-la carte dishes and loads of activities to do in the National Park and around the resort! We liked the relaxed vibe of the forest and staying in Bali’s least touristic area of the island. If you don’t want to spend your vacation in the typical busy, touristic areas - we believe this should be your choice!

The trip to the resort can be rather long - 5 hrs (but worth it!). You can make it more fun by taking a few stops along the way!

Our stay at the Menjangan was excellent. The staff were exceptional : friendly, courteous and super helpful at all times. The location was amazing : it was a real privilege to stay in the National park and actually sleep in a rain forest. The snorkelling tour ( which included lunch ) was a great experience with a really good diving guide: Highly recommended. The facilities were comfortable and well maintained ; the turn down service was a real treat . The food was good and cocktails in the Bali tower are highly recommended. A wonderful place all round.

Wow! What an experience was this. Honestly the most service friendly and kind staff I have ever met. They call themselves a family and you’ll quickly notice you’re getting part of that family yourself. The room, restaurant, massages, kayaking, snorkling it was al very much worth it and exceeded our expectations very much. It’s definitely worth it to drive up here to the not touristy part of Bali. Thanks to all the staff and especially Gelgel who went the extra mile to make sure everything was good.

Absolutely nothing negative to say.

The room was splendid and comfortable. The pool at the Monsoon Lodge was serene, and I even saw two endangered Bali Mynah birds as I floated in it. The resort is very spread out so you get to ride these crazy little "safari cars" down some bumpy roads to get to the beach and spa. I didn't realize when I booked how far the Monsoon Lodge would be from the beach, but with the safari cars, it was pretty easy to get back and forth. Food was good, views were spectacular. I loved the four-tier Bali Tower restaurant, bar, and lookout spot. I loved seeing deer and muntjac, monkeys and dolphins. Snorkeling off the jetty is not bad. The BF had a good massage down by the water. The staff were also incredibly nice. I had a virus during our stay there and they brought me food and even signed a Get Well card for me. They also brought us endless lattes during breakfast without complaint! Really sweet place for a quiet retreat.

The roads between the facilities were spine-rattling! Also it was a little challenging at first to figure out how to get the snorkeling equipment, but we got connected eventually.

Everything was fantastic and hands down the best accommodation we ever stayed at. When we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the manager at the majestic Tower, and given cold drinks and a snack. The breeze was rustling through the leaves, all the staff was smiling and at that moment, we knew we are in great hands. Truly the most epic welcome ever. Our accommodation was gorgeous and spotlessly clean, and halfway through our stay we got an upgrade to a beach villa (!!), which was truly a one of a kind surprise, that made our stay even more amazing. We also tried out the large pool, it was great especially late in the evening, when it is beautifully lit. Right at out beach villa, there was a “tree of life” as we called it - a large fruit tree attracting all sorts of animals - deer, squirrels, weasels (I cannot remember the correct name, haha), monkeys and a large flock of swallows flying around the tree all day. We are huge animal lovers so this was the absolute paradise for us. The staff was amazing, constantly smiling and took great care of us. Honestly, the management of this resort sat down and thought “What could visitors possibly want?”, wrote EVERYTHING down and then implemented it. Everything was possible, all was arranged already before we even thought of needing it. Truly top level service. The waters at the beach are gorgeous, turquoise and warm, wonderful for swimming and snorkelling. We also tried the bird watching trek, paddleboarding, kayaking and horse riding and truly enjoyed all of it. The transportation by park safari cars was great fun and we always made sure to sit on top and right in the front. The restaurant was great and for my friend’s birthday, we booked a private candlelight dinner, which was the best thing ever. The location (pergola among mangroves) was one of a kind, the decorations, attention to detail, our waiter was amazing and fun, and the food was absolutely delicious.

Restaurant prices were a bit on the high side. But the saddest thing was the fact that we had to leave :)

Location and staff where very good. Wild deer walking on the beach and in the mangroves was very unusual.

We had a beachside bungalow which was magnificent but unable to swim safely due to very shallow rocky reef and a lot of spiky sea urchins in the water.
