Raffles Udaipur

The hotel overall hospitality was excellent... Right from arrival till departure, all the staff were on their toes towards making our trip most comfortable. Every time we stepped out of our room, the staff made us feel like a royal meward guest.

Being at an off location far from city, the food menu should have been more elaborate. The food taste wasn't as expected. I am sure the hotel admin would improve it.

WOW What a hotel! If you're in Udaipur and want to enjoy a little heavenly Oasis, then you must stay at the Raffles! We went for a wedding so that's the main reason for staying there, but wow we were just impressed by everything. The room (spectacular), the food (delicious), the facilities (amazing), the grounds (beautiful). From the moment you are greeted to get on the boat which takes you to the island where the hotel is to the moment of checkout, the experience was amazing. The staff is super friendly and extremely helpful! Highly recommend all those visiting to at least enjoy an evening or two at this palace.

Though maybe not particular to the hotel, but the experience at the salon wasn't amazing. We went for hair/make up/ saree draping. Though I was absolutely pleased with my makeup, the Hair and saree experience were underwhelming. On a separate note, we found some of the food prices a tad bit high (and I'm from NYC), but I guess as expected at a 5 star resort.

First of all, the property is absolutely stunning! Everything is clean and looks brand new. The room was spacious and beautiful. Second, the service was the best I have ever had. They are taking care of anything you can think of with the highest standards and always with a smile. It was a perfect stay!

The only thing that needed an improvement was breakfast. When the place is packed, you'll need to wait for a table (we waited one time for 20 minutes) as they dont really have enough tables for all rooms. Also, the waiting time to get the food was pretty long and there weren't a lot of international food options at the buffet. But even that was ok as the staff was very helpful and did their best to fix everything.

Gorgeous property in the middle of a lake, it is secluded there aren't any other properties in the area unlike Lake Pichola which is where all the famous properties are located. It is around 35 minutes away by car from the historic center. The place is new and offers amazing nature and views over the lake. The communication with the property prior to our arrival was excellent they responded to my queries very quickly and they contacted me one day before our arrival to arrange for our arrival since you need a boat to reach the property. A wide range of activities to do, so you will not get bored at all, some are free and some at an additional and reasonable cost such as hiking, yoga, tennis, shooting and even cooking classes. The Spa was amazing one of the best messages thanks to Tshering for the great message. Outstanding service the staff went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our time, special thanks to Nikita who did her best to accommodate our needs during the stay.

The place is really secluded so you need to consider the timing of your arrival and departure. Wifi connection could be improved.

The room was modern and luxurious. the food was excellent. the property was maintained exquisitely. the grounds were extremely well manicured. the staff were so attentive and helpful the butler that was assigned to us - Nikita was excellent. Nirmal was also very good. The restaurant staff were all very helpful and warm - Hema,and so many others. the restaurant manager was also very helpful. The driver - Om Prakash - who was assigned to us was very helpful when we went on our city tour

The hotel, located on an island in the Udai Sagar Lake, is a marvel in itself. The rooms are spotlessly clean, large and super comfy, each has a balcony with a view of the lake and the hills. The whole experience was rejuvenating and relaxing sans the tourist crowd and rush which is inescapable around the other hotels in the city. The extremely friendly and helpful staff made us feel cared for and looked after, a special mention is deserved by Rambilas for this.

There are no other options to eat out in the area so one is stuck with the hotel restraunt only, which can become boring if you are staying for 3-4 days.

The service was incredible. We were a group of 6, celebrating two birthdays. They gave us complimentary cake, decorated the room with photos and gave a gift as well. Vikram from the butler team helped plan everything out and Chef Rawat graciously made our food separately since we had a member with a nut allergy. They were all very nice and helpful and would definitely recommend staying here with family. + The views are great and the rooms are huge, clean and very comfy.

The property is new and well made . the bar , restaurants , rooms and especially the grounds . the gardening team is doing an amazing job . service was top quality . as expected from a raffles . mini bar was well stocked , good choice of products in the mini bar (love the Paul and Mike chocolates) Tennis court is a perfect addition to the holiday . and other experiences on offer seemed interesting too My parents liked the care they were given . especially since mom needed a wheel chair. The electric boat instead of a noisy petrol driven motor is such a boon, it adds to the experience of the lake entrance.

the restaurant and bar service is a little slow . Especially breads (roti , naan etc ) in the main restaurants . a serving of chapati literally took them 13mins to deliver, mid meal drinks by the pool side take up to 20mins . really need to streamline the SOP on this one . . maybe because they are still new and learning. finally the lack of a good quality moisturiser in the rooms was a disappointment

Staff were excellent, attention to detail in rooms, butler service etc, fabulous furnishings, well appointed and tastefully decorated rooms that managed to feel distinctive and not too generic/bland. Moreover - I was actually upgraded by the hotel from a balcony room on upper floor to a ground floor room with a garden and plunge pool, which was a welcome surprise. The garden was an oasis of calm and had nice views of the lake and surrounding vegetation. There were wedding functions on the whole duration of my stay so I was relieved to have somewhere quiet I could retreat to.

Western options at breakfast could have been better. Omelette wasn’t properly cooked, French toast a little dry. Although staff were helpful and courteous, some western guests might have found the constant attention a little oppressive. Every member of staff you passed asked you how you were and if they could help. Perhaps this is expected in India when staying at luxury resorts, but having to have so many interactions with so many people when you are trying to relax, eat, drink etc, might be a bit much for the guest who wants privacy and relaxation. I appreciate however that staff are trained to be solicitous and alert to their guest and their needs. My observations are based solely on my experience as a British traveller.

The Location of this property is excellent. Away from hustle and bustle and very magical. We Loved the time from when we entered the Reception location at the mainland to the boat ride to the hotel on its own lake. The Buggy ride to the Reception. Loved every moment of it. The welcome was exceptional, The views were excellent, The Staff were very attentive and helpful. The breakfast was very good and the dinner by the pool with live traditional Rajasthani music group made the whole experience so special. Our Room was beautiful, with a Plunge Pool, was out of this world, the bathroom had chandelier and was huge. Butler service excellent. The Pool area was so welcoming with Cabanas, and they also provided with cold water and fruit. I Can't wait to go back to Raffles Udaipur. This is one of by favourite Hotel in India.
