The Metropolitan Hotel New Delhi

I love staying at the Metro, this was my 4th time staying at the Metro, feels like a home away from home. Rooms are comfortable and clean, breakfast buffet always delicious and full of variety.

This time we experienced an issue with the staff when arriving at the hotel but the lobby manager made extra efforts to turn the experience around by upgrading us, adding breakfast to our stay and giving us a late checkout.

Warm and hospitable staff in the reception and security. Clean and comfortable room with well appointed toilet and Mini Bar. Very comfortable bed and pillows This is my preferred accommodation in Delhi on business trips

Breakfast staff is inefficient and inattentive. Breakfast spread was ordinary with bread and Danish being very dry and unappetizing. Saw a waiter pick up nuts from the buffet counter with his hands and eat them TV leaves a lot to be desired. TV itself is quite small and absolutely no choice of channels. Looks like the hotel has not subscribed to any Cable. These issues have to be taken care of

A decent large hotel. The rooms were very nice and the beds exceptionally comfortable. The spa has a free-to-use steam room which was great facility after a day travelling, eps as Delhi is pretty dirty/smoggy. There was an enormous and impressive choice for breakfast

The location is okay, there is a lot of poverty/homelessness nearby. We only stayed 1 night so didn't venture out partly because of this, plus there are restaurants onsite. We chose Chutney restaurant, and while the food was nice, we felt it was over-priced for what we received. Food and Alcohol tax is high in Delhi and is in addition to the prices shown in the menu. That caught us out!

- they gave us a room with shower and not with the bath tub as I booked. Promptly they moved us to another room. - housekeeping - food

- wifi (very unstable and slow, not acceptable for a 5 star hotel) - uncomfortable interaction with staff. Indirectly they are showing that a tip is always required. Example we have 3 light carry on bags, which we can manage to the taxi. Three staff helped us and stood around which made me very unconfortable. You can not expect people giving tips for any interaction. Fake looking customer service to be revised by the management as can lead to annoyance.

Nice clean rooms, all twin. Allowed us to leave our bags in the luggage store for 4 days, before our next stay at the hotel. Breakfast was a fairly good spread (particularly the freshly cooked omelette).

Restaurant was very overpriced, which was a shame. The hotel transport was also overpriced, but using Uber/Ola worked well. Not super close to any metro stations. All rooms were twins even though we requested doubles.

This is a proper 5 Star Hotel situated around 5 minutes pleasant walk from Bangla Saheb Gurudwara on the Bangla Saheb Road. The hotel is within 10 to 15 minutes walking distance to Ramkrishna Ashram Metro Station (North East of the Hotel), Shivaji Stadium Metro Station (South West of The Hotel and perfect for Airport Drops) and Rajiv Chowk (North West of the Hotel). The area has several good restaurants, cafes, grocery stores. And if you are able to walk for 15 odd minutes then you are at the famous Connaught Place (CP) which is one of THE Most popular Commercial Districts in the world. So literally countless of Shopping and Dining Options. The Hotel room and bathroom was very big and spacious. The Staff (Reception, HouseKeeping Staff of 2nd Floor where i stayed, The Breakfast Buffet Staff, The Security and Staff at the door) were extremely polite and helpful. The service was exemplary by everyone. My wife eats Jain Cuisine (So No Onion, No Garlic and No Potato). The Staff and Chef of Breakfast Table were most accomodative for this and served some really good piping hot meal every day. And gave a different option for all of the 7 days that we ate there, We could not use the pool, spa or gym facilities because we were out on most part of the day. But simply looking at it from outside, i found it very good and well maintained. One Amazing Part of the Hotel was that it was full and even at 7 AM the breakfast table was full of people. Yet Even in the peak of crowd, we did not have to wait for more than 10 minutes for breakfast. The breakfast spread was huge (As is the case with most 5 star hotels in India).

This is not really a complaint but a honest feedback and observation - we found that the staff, although super in the service, looked very stressed out. It seemed they were under some tremendous "do or die" pressure. This can be detremental for the people working and i urge the management to do something about it. Giving Exemplary is awesome but surely the staff should not get stressed. I would recommend, hiring some more people and relieving the stess of the existing staff.

Within walking distance to the Bangla Sahib. My daughter and husband loved the breakfast.

Room had a weird scent. Had trouble with the internet because we were told that only 2 devices were allowed only after we arrived at the hotel and I couldn't have wifi access on my computer. Their booking page mentioned FREE WIFI, but did not specify that only two devices are allowed. I work from home, so internet access on multiple devices was a must for me. I contacted Booking.com and the hotel immediately connected my third device.

The staff was very humble and courteous. The general manager at the reception counter [ one with fine mustache ] was very nice and co-operative. He deserves to be promoted.. The way he handles the guestscis remarkable. He made me happy.even though the Booking.Com misleaded me. The location of the Hotel is good. The Breakfast was nice. I will recommend this hotel, but will not recommend Booking.Com.

The Booking.Com had provided wrong Information while reserving the Triple Room. It was mentioned that the Room which was reserved has one Single Bed and one Double Bed.. in fact it had one double bad and one small mechanical iron cot. It was not Single Bed In any Stretch of imagination. So by giving wrong information, the Booking.Com has induced me to reserve and pay money for the Room and there by cheated me. If it would have mentioned Iron cot , I would not have reserved and paid for the Room. Booking .Com is accountable for this mis representation and has to compensate me for their wrong doing and my loss. This wrogful act made me upset and felt myself like fool, it was written Commitment from Booking.Com, which provoked me to counter the hotel staff for no fault of them.

Good location and friendly and helpful staff who were very accommodating, especially when it came to our late checkout because of our flight time. the food at the ‘Chutney’ restaurant was delicious, but a little pricey. the common facilities were very good, especially the gym, which was fully equipped.

We were rather disappointed with the room as we were expecting a bath tub and the bathroom was very small and the commode/toilet was placed in such a way that it was rather cramped when using it. One of the night stands had a faulty drawer that wouldn’t close fully and the table top had an empty space where a drawer had once been.
