Buda Castle Hotel Budapest

We stayed for a couple of nights at this elegant and modern boutique hotel on the Buda side (Buda Castle District). The hotel location is great as you can reach the major sights such as Fisherman’s Bastion and Matthias Church within 5 mins. It just takes a 10 min walk to reach the Buda Castle. The check-in / check-out was a breeze with the front desk staff pleasant and helpful. Our room on the third floor was big, had all the amenities and stairs led to a bed above the living room. The mattress & pillows though soft were comfortable and we could sleep well after each day spent exploring the Buda side. The bathroom fittings were modern and we really enjoyed the hot water shower. The breakfast area on the ground floor had suffcient tables and the breakfast spread was plentiful & varied. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return if we visit the Buda side of the city again. Just note that dining options are extremely limited in the Buda Castle District and quite expensive. We also spent a few nights on the Pest side (other side of Danube) at a different hotel, so we could see the rest of the historic sights in Budapest.

Buda Castle Hotel is what it says on the tin . Located 5 min walk from the World Heritage sightings: Renaissance 15th century Matthias Church, Buda Castle, Fisherman's Tower. Spotless clean throughout compared to other Western city hotels in terms of location and price. In January this is still under £90 / 100 €. Price includes breakfast - cooked ( you need to let them know what you would like to be cooked from the menu) or continental style buffet : plenty of cheese, salami, salad, fruits etc - please see photos. The basic double room was huge and spacious much larger in comparison to other Budapest more expensive 4 star hotels. The beds are XL king or queen size - extra pillows can be found in the sliding wardrobes. The outside lobby area is very welcoming - it has a minimalistic but luxury feel to it. I can't emphasize enough that in terms of price and location this is an exceptionally good hotel company to other cities - which are most of the time a huge let down in terms of price and quality.

Only minor ( slight sulfuric thermal water odour in bathroom - but these can be eliminated by fragrance installed)

Location excellent with 16 bus taking minutes to reach the other side,of the river and all the castle sites beside the hotel.. Breakfast very good with buffet serving hot amd Cold food. Breads. Pastries, eggs and Bacon, cereals, fruit, yogurt Room big and, spotlessly clean with big comfortable. Bed. Also had a. Fridge. Toiletries and Coffee were replaced daily. Would definitely stay here again and recommend.

Only item that could be better was the making of the bed. I understand linen not being changed for environmental reasons but the linen could have been shaken/folded daily..

In a fantastic position close to the castle. The room was enormous, the hotel was very quiet and the breakfast was fine.

It's perhaps getting a little bit tired and could do with paint being redone and carpet updated, but the rooms are really big, very quiet and the location is great. Not so great to get to by public transport but walking distance to the castle and other attractions. A few restaurants close by if you arrive late like we did and need dinner. Overall, very good value for the price we paid and I would stay there again.

Location was Excellent. We were a 5 minute walk from the closest bus stop. Was very easy to get from the Buda side to the Pest side. 5 mins from sights and restaurants yet still peacefully tucked away. The breakfast was nice and filling. Our room was a great size and offered us privacy as it was a suite. Everything was clean and tidy. We had a tea each night and every morning the tea bags were topped up with new flavours

The shower in the bath was of a good temperature and pressure but it wouldn’t stay in position when hooked back onto the wall. You had to constantly hold the shower stick whilst having a shower or-else the water would go everywhere. Similarly, you couldn’t put it down in the bath or-else it would flip over and soak the room. For someone with very long hair it was a bit of a struggle but nothing to deter me from staying again as this was a minor inconvenience compared to everything else which we found great.

Highly Recommended 👍 The hotel was 5 stars for us⭐️ The hotel is the Best location at Budapest, just few hundred meters and you will find many attractions around. There are many high quality restaurants near by. Rooms are very clean and big. Also the bed are so comfy, we slept as an angels.🙂 Everywhere in the hotel was an amazing cinnamon smell it was amazing. The breakfast was delicious and had everything what you need for a good breakfast.😋 The receptionist (Szabolcs) was really professional and friendly. He helped us with everything. Big thanks for him, for making our stay wonderful. I also recommend, take the transfer what they offer you from the airport because they have a private chauffeur. The chauffeur was really kind to us and professional pick you up with a Black Mercedes benz. Overall YOU MUST VISIT this hotel if you stay at Budapest.

The Hotel is located with a 4 minute walk of the tourist attractions in Buda. It's a typical old building meticulously maintained and very well kept. The room was spacious, very comfortable bed, coffe maker, small fridge, the shower was great and the bathroom too. Service was professional and friendly and overall I had a great stay. I must point out that the breakfast was absolutely superb with every option imaginable. For the price and location, I could not have asked for more.

The room needed some better cleaning, specifically next to the bed.

The room was superb and comfortable. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was fresh and well stocked with an assortment of items. The location was great with sites just a few blocks away. Transportation was very easy by bus to anywhere in the city. I have stayed in a lot of hotels over the years. This is my favorite. I will recommend this to anyone headed to Budapest.

If you walk to the hotel, carrying bags, they are not kidding about how big the hill is. If you arrive by train, take the bus up the hill.

The room looked fenomenal, like from a design magazine! The bed was comfortable and every bathroom necessity was provided by hotel! The staff was very helpful and the breakfast was amazing! Great price for such value and luxury! The hotel is in a quite quiet street and in a very peaceful environment but also very close to the biggest tourist attractions in Budapest!

The bathroom could use some remodelling one the walls and our AC unit didn’t work properly, heated the room instead of cooling it, but other than that everything was great!

Only 25 rooms, spacious bedroom with large beds, large bathroom, vaulted ceiling; ample Continental breakfast. Staff were friendly and helpful at all times of day.Excellent location and very quiet at night.

Upper shower head fixing was fitted upside down so that the shower head could not be positioned there. This was not a problem until we found that the head in the lower position shot water through a missing piece of shower screen seal, flooding the bathroom (this fixed by me moving a short section of seal from another point where it wasn’t needed). This issue did not alter our positive experience.
