Mercure Hotel Koblenz

Friendly and professional staff. Lovely location on the Rhein, close to the city centre. Excellent breakfast buffet selection. Good facilities.

Some renovation works ongoing with the elevator. The bar / restaurant closed rather early on the Saturday evening at around 11:30pm which is very early for a Saturday in Germany. We had just attended a late running concert in the Rhein-Mosel-Halle next door and were looking forward to a “night-cap” on our return to the hotel so were a little disappointed to be told that they were closed.

Everything was great. No complaints, staff were great, breakfast was great and aside from the roadworks outside the bedroom (which the hotel are not responsible for) an excellent stay.

The parking under the hotel is good but why can the parking rate not be included in the hotel stay instead of having to pay separately. A discount is available if you ask the reception staff to stamp your ticket but this was not advertised and it was complete luck that I overheard some else asking for the discount stamp.

Paid for a privilege room with river view and it was fantastic. The view was brilliant, the room spacious, very modern and clean. Lift to floor 9 was fast and no queues. Everything in room and common area looked fresh. No sign of wear or tiredness. Bed was huge. Good shower with strong pressure and quick to heat up despite being on floor 9.

Room was a bit too warm and difficult to cool at night. Its not a beautiful building to look at but you cant see that once you are inside.

Kind and helpfull front-office staff (much appreciated!) - nice breakfast with more than enough choice (even for vegans & lactose intolerance, tasty coffee & sandwiches) - modern and clean room with gorgeous view on the river and hills - excellent location - extensive room facilities (airco, coffee, heater with timer in bathroom...)

We had two rooms for the same price, only one of them had a free mini-bar and was more spacious, the other one was rather small, as were the bathrooms. Some seats in the breakfast room when you have a table for four: a bit annoying when the person next to you has to stand up each time to let you pass.

The bed was enormous and super comfy. The bathroom had a timer warmer, pretty useful for someone like me that is more than I like cold. We did not use any of the other commodities because it was only a one-night stay. The personnel was diligent and nice. I lost my scarf, I suppose in the lobby when doing the check-in, and the next day I found it at the reception because it has a note on it and was located where everybody could see it. Thanks!

Maybe the only thing that was a little not convenient, was the time to do the check-in: from 15:00 and the time to do the check-out 12:00. Maybe the check-in time was a little too late, taking into consideration that the next day you need to do the check-out at 12:00.

The rooms were excellent and with a great river view. The pillows, for guests not used to 'duvet' type pillows were not the best or most comfortable, but otherwise the beds were good & the room was excellent.

EUR 22.00 per person for breakfast is completely unreasonable! Outside the hotel EUR 22.95 bought breakfast for 4 persons including tea and coffee.

No need to mention that beds are comfortable and the room is spacious. the remarkable is that the hotel has dry and steam saunas and sun room also. the location is very convenient. very close to German Corner and cable car.

even though a little disconcerting incident happened, the hotel staff immediately took care of us. really appreciated it.

We visited Koblenz at the end of July. The hotel facilities where perfect, the room was standard European size and the bathroom was comfortable. Breakfast was a buffet with all what we expected; bread of several sorts, yogurts and cereals, coffee, tea and juice, vegetables and fruits and some warm dishes with egg and meat and also cakes for those who enjoy that kind of meal at the break of the day. Mercur is situated on the bank of the Rhine, and we enjoyed the walks along the riverside. It is only 5 minutes’ walk from the old city and from several colorful and cozy restaurants. The personal was helpful and friendly. As for the safety issue under the corona restrictions it is hard for me to judge what the German authorities regard as acceptable, however, judging according to the Danish standards, there was a need for improvement. 50 persons in the dining room mixing together, no distance could be observed and no correct hand hygiene was possible. The spoon you used to get yogurt to your dish was previously held by 10-20 other persons...

Nice modern hotel a little tricky to locate on the way in. Nice rooms nice bar reasonable drink prices and a basement garage. Lovely breakfast staff fantastic and I would definitely stay again.

Unfortunately the power went off to our room during the night leaving phones uncharged and making showering difficult. Contacted reception and they fixed the problem quickly. Everything else was great.

Clean, efficient, Covid-19 mitigation measures, no transport needed from/ to central station, easy walk to Rhine promenade/ cable station/ Deutsches Eck/ city centre, view over the river, Koblenz is easy to get in and out of by train with excellent connections to Frankfurt Airport and major cities, suited me well for an overnight visit.

Noise from the main road when windows are open, even on seventh floor. Breakfast could have a bit more variety (e.g. including fish) and better quality bread.
