Hotel Astoria

The hotel corresponds to the description and photo. Small but cozy in a homely way. It takes 15-20 minutes to walk to the center. We stayed for 4 days, we had to extend it by 1 day and everything happened very easily. Special thanks for the breakfasts. I don't remember such delicious, fresh breakfasts even in top-class hotels. Delicious pancakes, pineapples, mangoes, kiwis, grapes, apples - these are only fruits. All the food is the freshest and tastes homely. I leave with a very good impression. When I return, I will definitely stay here.

The location is wonderful, 5-10 minutes walk to the city center, only three stops from the main train station, the tram station is right in front of the hotel, many eateries near by. The staff are nice and helpful, we will definitely staying here again next time.

We’ve got a room close to the street, the weather during our staying was too hot for us to close to window at night, the fan provided by the hotel didn’t help. Since the windows were opened the whole night, we could hear everything on the street. We got off really early in the morning since we couldn’t sleep anymore by the ongoing tram.

Ok breakfast with sufficient choice for everyone. Easy to get from train station with tram stop infront of hotel. Staff are very nice. Practicality with electronic key box and availability on phone of on duty personell while there is no person at reception in the evening.

Generally don't have complaints, you pay what you get, but its actually expensive for what you get compared to other countries but thats the situation all over Germany. Regarding the phone availability in case of emergency card problems as i had for me was functioning perfectly, but for foreigners with foreign phone card and in roaming won't work satisfactory and would cause distress and extra costs.

Breakfast is almost a case of over supply! I asked for a quiet room out back and the hotel complied... The doors might let noise through from the hotel-hallway - e.g. if people come back from partying till early in the morning. But I'd book here again.

The stay is rather impersonal: Check-in after noon is via a lock-box. Only at check-out did I get to exchange a few words with the lady at reception... But I guess that's fine if you're mainly looking for a place to crash.

Breakfast was incredible, selection of hot and cold meals wow! Big shower, comfortable bed, all clean and nice. No noise problems.

Well it was very hot in the room, fan didnt help much, so for some people might that dont feel good in warmth might be crucial

The breakfast was excellent, a wide variety of food, the staff continuously refreshing tables, food; it was wonderful. Coffee, tea, juice, water, sparkling water- and the bread/rolls were delicious.

We were on the front side of hotel and trams run all night. Fortunately I had earplugs, and they supplied rhem also.

Location is very good - on 20 min walking to Karlsruhe Palace and on 10 min - to Zoo. There was a parking place in front of the hotel. Is is free of charge on Sundays and costs 2 euro per hour from Mon-Sat. The hotel provide self-check in which is very helpful.

The cleanliness in the bathroom was not perfect. It did not smelt very fresh.

Spacious well equipped room, with good shower room. Good location, interesting attractive characterful area. Trams go by the Hotel, and also in the adjoining street = convenient, but a little noisy at night. Managed to park car in a street about 350 metres away. Railway station a pleasant walk away. Good breakfast. Great value.

Amazing breakfast including literally everything! Perfect location, the tram stop is just outside the hotel door! The hotel is just two stops (2 mins) from the city center. You can go anywhere in the city (mostly with just 1 tram - no changes) The staff was very kind, helpful and polite ready to help you any time you want!

Pillows should be a little bit harder - not so soft.

Nice hotel in the city centre of Karlsruhe. Large room, well equipped, great breakfast buffet. The building is a bit older, thus has high ceilings and (if you are lucky) a balcony.

The tram in front of the house is indeed a bit noisy, but you get used to it or you can use earplugs that are provided by the hotel.
