What a lovely hotel, beautifully furnished. We only stayed one night but will definitely be back again. Perfect location in Val les Bains. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was very good. Plenty of free parking. We didn't use the pool but it looked lovely.
We stayed on a Monday night so the hotel restaurant was closed. The hotel did recommend another restaurant and kindly made a resvervation for us.

It’s a large hotel in the late 19th century style but the inside has been stylishly modernised. It’s in an excellent position in central Vals with car parking. The young staff are exceptionally alert, welcoming and eager to help. Above all, the restaurant is excellent. It’s expensive but not expensive for a Michelin starred restaurant.
The room, while excellently equipped, was small for a Superior Double. The breakfast was buffet style and while the staff explained to everyone that they should be masked except when at table, and that they should clean their hands with gel every time they went to the buffet, not all guests did. This put us at risk when we then handled spoons touched by other guests.

The hotel is well located in the centre of the lovely Vals-les-Bains town; it is possible to walk to some good restaurants (we didn't book the Michelin star restaurant in the hotel in advance so missed out on that!); the staff were very helpful and attentive; the rooms were clean and comfortable; the pool is small but fine for the kids when no one else was around!
Nothing much to say here; perhaps it would be nice to be prompted to book the hotel's Michelin starred restaurant upon booking the room? That's our fault but a prompt on Booking.com might be helpful!

The "luxury" room was acceptable, but very overpriced. We did not try the restaurant.
The staff were friendly but partially incompetent/insufficiently trained. The reception did not provide any information about the hotel services. The bar was hopeless, no service, no atmosphere, very limited choice. The breakfast was, like the rest of the hotel, simply not up to the standard of a 4-star hotel. No comfortable outside sitting area, not even at the pool. The hotel is best described as shabby-genteel.
