Definitely Quaint, and peaceful. Decor was old style but very well put together. If you are looking to relax this is the place for you. The Square was about 200 yards from the B&B, it had a small kiosk, very reasonable and quite a good selection of food!!!. The Castle is a 15 min walk if you go over the new Bridge. If you like a relaxing Pint other than a Restaurant, I'd recommend The Celt around a 10 minute walk. P.s so nice to relax by the pool with a Glass of wine at night before knowing that you are going to have a peaceful night's sleep.

Personally I'd have preferred more choice for breakfast. But as this is my 1st B&B in France this may be the norm, so i have nothing to compare it to. Both my wife and I were badly eaten by Mosquitos, so do bring along Mosquito repellent. This is not the properties fault just a cautionary note...

The best thing about B&B du Palais probably where the hosts. Really nice people, unbeatable treatment. Always attentive to our needs, even when I knew I was asking a little bit too much. The room was beautiful, the bed extra confortable and quite big. I'm 6,5ft (196cm) tall and the bed felt big enough. There was even a Boiler and a coffee machine at the room

The toilette door had no handle and you could't lock it so no the best thing if you go there with somebody you've met recently. And at the bathroom I would apreciatte a bigger surfice for placing my stuff.

The location is perfect - just a short stroll to either the medieval castle & the old city with numerous bars, restaurants & shops on your doorstep. The B&B is beautifully furnished and immaculately clean. The gardens & pool area are perfect for relaxing after a busy day. Breakfast was a delight - a great selection of fruit, cold meats, cheeses, bread & pastries, with the option to have crepes or omlettes for those with bigger appetites. Nothing is too much trouble for the superb hosts, Mike & Pete, who are always on hand to provide helpful information to make your stay perfect.

We loved the quirky decor of the b&b, from the beautiful French shabby chic to the random tray of conkers! Fly me to the moon is still echoing in my head from the radiogram that softly plays in the dining room. The laid back yet attentive service at breakfast was lovely as was the breakfast itself. Our room was spotlessly clean. The bed linen and towels were quality as was the vanille bourbon hand wash and shower gel provided. The hotels location is tucked away down a side street and is hidden behind a private gate, central to both the centre and medieval city itself, easy walking distance. If you are thinking of visiting Carcassonne do not hesitate in staying here, you will not be disappointed.

Amazing stay! Possibly the nicest B&B that we have ever stayed in with brilliant attention to detail! Rooms are large and comfortable with everything you will need for a relaxing stay. Breakfast was delicious and included a continental selection of pastries, breads, meats, cheese a fruit with the option to have crepes or an omelette. We spent a lovely afternoon relaxing at the poolside and given the B&B is so small you will never be unable to get a sun lounger at any time. There is a small mini-bar operated on a good-will system where you mark in a book what you have had and pay at the end of your stay. Prices were extremely reasonable as if you were purchasing from a supermarket. The owner is very knowledgeable of the local area and has great recommendations for things to do.

Absolutely nothing, should I return to Carcassonne, I will be booking to stay here!

very nice place to stay when visiting Carcassonne! my room (the red one, i think!) was very spacious and the balcony had a great view over the swimming pool (though the surrounding buildings were very residential and not much to look at). the hosts were great and super friendly and gave me very helpful tips on driving around France! Breakfast was good. I had to take off a little earlier than the normal breakfast time during one of the days and the hosts offered to set up my breakfast earlier to ensure I got to go off exploring on a full stomach! i wish i had stayed on the property more to take advantage of the pool and all that! would def consider staying if - nay, when! - i revisit Carcassonne!

beware that it does take about 15-20 minutes walking distance to get to the old city of Carcassonne - to me, it meant that i wasn't gonna hike back in the middle of the day for a quick refreshment before going out again. nothing against the property at all - just something to note regarding its location.

Best B&B I have ever stayed in! The accommodation itself is stunning. It has great character. Very spacious, elegant and artfully decorated rooms. Each room has a unique colour scheme and theme. Our room had a lovely pink theme. The breakfast was outstanding. Really nice selection of breads, meats and cheeses. Each morning the hosts would provide either an omelette or crepes as well as the continental spread. The quality of the food and presentation was excellent. What stood out most about this stay though was the warmth, friendliness and generosity of the hosts. They couldn't have done any more to help us. They were incredibly nice. They made us feel so welcome, treated us like friends rather than guests and even insisted on us joining them for New Years Eve and provided wine and champagne to toast the New Year. Absolutely lovely people and they deserve enormous credit for the way they treat their guests.

To be honest there was nothing that could have been done better.

Property and location incredible, has recently been renovated and looks every part a classical French Villa. Peter and Mike went out their way to collect us from the airport when the bus was delayed, and continued the 5* treatment throughout our stay. Room was fabulous and breakfast filling each morning. Excellent guides to the local area, with recommendations for a variety restaurants and activities. Will recommend to friends/family

in the heat of summer it may need more a efficient A/C unit than just a fan!

Thank you for a wonderful weekend break at your beautiful B&B. We were welcomed by Glenn and Jayne in the absence of the owners, they were superb hosts and nothing was too much trouble. We appreciated the gorgeous decor, layout and ambience of your glorious property, especially the courtyard haven with the pool (alas in November, did not brave it). The location is superb, only minutes from some excellent restaurants, beautiful walks and of course la cité. Finally, our room was exceptionally comfortable, beautifully decorated, and excellently appointed—the coffee machine and kettle (for tea) is a real plus. Downstairs the lounge is so tranquil and cosy, the dining area too. Breakfast was delicious: one vegan—exceptionally well catered for, one normal!—whom appreciated the fabulous omelettes. Thank you, we would highly recommend a visit as we could not fault neither the facilities nor the welcome and service provided.

We loved everything about our stay and our hosts made us feel most welcome. We stayed in the Green room on the second floor and it had everything we needed and more. The shower was amazing and the bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was available at a sensible time and was exceptional, we stayed two nights and as well as a continental breakfast, there was a different cooked option both mornings, omelette on the first morning, crepes on the second morning, both very tasty. Great place and would definitely stay here again.

There was nothing to dislike.
