Hôtel Grimaldi

The room was nicely furnished and was clean. No lift as we'd been advised beforehand but the helpful lady who checked us in carried our heavy suitcase up. All the staff were friendly especially to our little boy. Breakfast was 14 euros for a good selection of pastries with jams, yoghurt with fruit coulis, cheese, baguettes, fresh orange juice and a hot drink. The location is fantastic right on the main square and we also enjoyed a fabulous dinner at the restaurant in the evening.

We were advised beforehand to stop the car nearby to unload then drive to a car park. However the jazz concert meant the unloading place wasn't allowing parking; not the hotel's fault obviously but it would've been good to know in advance.

We asked for an early check in and the hotel, whose reception is not normally staffed during the day, arranged for the welcoming and very professional Laura to greet us. Our room had everything we needed, the bed was really comfortable and the hotel was very quiet - not really surprising as it's February. Laura prepared breakfast each morning, with fromage blanc to die for. Also a callout to the very adorable chien de la maison. Not a downside, but guests need to remember that this is a medieval building, so no elevator and there are quite steep stairs. But what you get in atmosphere and hospitality more than makes up for the exercise!

Our stay at the hotel Grimaldi (located in the Old city of the medieval village Haut-de-Cagnes) was great. The rooms are very comfortable, clean and tastefully decorated. The breakfast at Grimaldi Hotel was the best one we had in our trip to Provence. .The place is highly recommended for young people without restrictions

The arrival to the Grimaldi Hotel was complicated and the access to the rooms via the staircase was difficult for the elderly couple in our group (7 persons). The place is not recommended to people with restrictions.

A beautiful little Gem on top of a hill. Virginie and Laurie so helpful. And tiny "Sweetie" the Chihuahua who thought she was a very big dog! Many nice local people and other animals around the Square. Jimmy's restaurant across was very good and reasonably priced for South of France. Fabulous setting and bedroom elegant. Great Aircon. Little FREE shuttle down into town every 15minutes.

Crazy stairs. Bath... not walk in Shower. Bit difficult to get in and out. As were stairs if you've got dodgy knees!

Location is unique, however not for people who find it hard to walk. Room is clean and spacious. Arrival instruction with no check in staff were good. Nice bath. Breakfast at 14 euro was good. Charming old style hotel.

Personally I was disturbed by the noise from the room above me, I could hear every move they made in the room so if u r sensetive thats tough. No personal on duty for most of the time so if you encounter a problem you cant really talk to anyone.

Wonderful views, air conditioning , friendly staff. Excellent restaurant. Free bus service from new town up to Haut Cagney where hotel is located. There is also an amazing underground car park close to hotel.

Would not be suitable for those who could not climb steep narrow stairs. No disabled access nor lift..as per hotel details. Bearing this in mind there was nothing that we didn’t like.

Good communication with the hotel before arrival. Hotel full of character in a wonderful location atop a hill in a historic village. Room was a good size with a fabulous view and was exceptionally clean and comfy.

The farcical journey from the local station to get there.. Had to ask numerous kind locals for help as nothing was clear. No taxis at the station and construction work meant chaos. I didn't know there was a free shuttle bus from the bus station and unfortunately the bus station was a long way from the railway. However it worked out eventually!

Characterful property in the old town with great views overlooking the square Room was comfortable Host was friendly

There was no parking which we were aware of, but road closures at the time in the old town,which we were unaware of , meant that were were unable even to drop off luggage. We parked at Les Villettes car park in town and took the free minibus which worked quite well.

Everything we imagined and then some. Quaint square atop a hill in Cagnes sur mer which is dripping in ancient history. We spent our 4 days doing day trips east and west in the French Riviera and ended every day back in the square for a wonderful meal either at the hotel or one of the other 3 eateries in the square!!

the personnel was exceptionally pleasant and professional. the view from and around the hotel was amazing.

the access to the room was through a smallish staircase which can be challenging for people with mobility issues. the room was also on the small side so it was ok for a few days but would be restrictive for a longer stay.
