Lapland Hotels Kuopio

A good location for walking around Kuopio. We really didn't need a car until we went to the Sauna further south, though we could have explored more by car, and we did walk a lot! The room is comfortable, but not very big. The breakfast was fantastic. The gym was serviceable. There is a bar in the lobby, since the restaurant closes at 10pm, but it's not as nice as sitting in the restaurant area. We enjoyed our stay but felt it was a bit overpriced compared to other places we stayed.

Parking wasn't cheap, though it was secure. There was no way to clean off equipment in the gym - there were paper towels but no disinfectant.

The hotel decor was wonderfully laplandish, all the staff were great, friendly professional, and helpful. Breakfast and dinner were delicious experiences full of nature's delicacies which one could not find in other restaurants various smoked fish and herbs from the Finlamd's nature as well as the more familiar breakfast items. The location was good too.

Lack of wardrobe and room for luggage. We had two small luggage and it was just and just enough room for those. The bathroom also was small and the location of toilet paper holders wasn't ideal.

It was very nice and clean and for the basic single room it was very neat and modern. Staff were super nice, kitchen and serving staff were so friendly at breakfast and served coffee to the table, I have never experienced something like that and it felt so good after! ☺️ And food was amazing too!

Maybe how the building looked like from the outside and the location of the recepsion, it was hard to find at first. Maybe some paintwork would do woders for the facade but the inside of the hotel was beautiful all the way!

Nice decor, very clean everywhere, friendly and smiley staff, good breakfast with plenty of options with couple of Finnish specialities as well. Location is perfect (next to the train station & few blocks away from the city centre).

The pillow was too thick and there was no closet in the room (which would be an issue if staying for longer than 1 night).

The best thing at Lapland Hotels Kuopio is personnel. There must have been a great training, because everybody was so polite in a nice personal way. From reception to breakfast everything worked perfectly and personnel was truly interested that everything was fine. And that breakfast, superb.

Nothing major to complain. Parking is always tight at LH Kuopio. And the door in my door needed some oil to hinges. Really "major" problems. :-D

Location next to trainstation is great. And like always in Lapland Hotels where I have been the breakfast is top notch compared to many other brand hotels, I love it.

Hotel is made to an old apartment building. Let's say it's different what other Lapland Hotels are where I have been. It's not comparable for example Tampere Lapland Hotels. Don't get me wrong, it is still good.

Location was very convenient for the station and the town centre. The bed was very comfortable. The room was very clean and the shower was good with absolutely marvellous soap, shower and shampoo products. The breakfast was absolutely brilliant! Staff were delightful. I loved the Lapland theme of the hotel

Room was a bit small.

A very comfortable hotel very close to the centre of the city - we walked everywhere. I was especially impressed with the breakfast, which was far above the usual Finnish hotel offering and included some specialities from Lapland!

I know that these are still COVID times, but it was particularly annoying to have to wait endlessly for the lone lift if another party of guests was already in it (no mixing). This could have been remedied by allowing guests to use the stairs, but these were off limits/ emergency use only. So planning/ opening up the stairs for guests would have made a big difference.

Check-in was brilliant and the ladies at the bar were serving so nicely. Roome was tiney, but nice and air conditnioner kept it nicely cool. Breakfast was great and service during it was very nice.

There were few tiny problems, which cumulated to the end. Parking is tight and especially my corner place at upper parking place needs some talent. Corona and two small elevators is not a good combination. I have to carry my luggage down, because younger people didn't want to use stairs. And I understand it, finding them was tricky. While leaving the only lady at reception was stuck in the phone. So no goodbye

Room deco nice. Very central location right next to the train station and only 5 mins walk from the market square. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and beds were comfy.

Quite tiny bathroom but I suppose this is the structure from the earlier days. Some updating is needed on bathrooms.
