Hotel Føroyar

Brilliant views, great breakfast, nice walk down to the city, quite steep but still nice the hotel had a path! Large room, chrome cast built in with tv so can watch a film on your favourite steaming service should you want to. Window open had a lovely fresh breeze, Only stayed one night so cant comment on anything else. Coffee machine, mini fridge with free water was nice!

Paper thin pillows, maybe being from Britain we are in the minority with this, otherwise bed was really comfortable. Everyplace we stayed had the same type of pillow to be fair

This hotel is not only nice and cozy but also offers a beautiful view. With ample parking and proximity to the capital yet far enough to enjoy nature, it strikes the perfect balance. The food is delicious, and although we initially planned for just one night, after experiencing the comfort and fair pricing, we decided to make it our base for the entire trip. It's a gem that exceeded our expectations, making our stay even more memorable.

Costs for souvenirs like soap etc, way more cheaper at airport.

Clean, comfortable rooms and friendly staff. Beautiful view over Torshavn (though not from the even-numbered Annex rooms…). Good gym facility and a good breakfast. Well located for getting on the road and out to explore the islands by car.

A bit pricy but that’s the Faroes for you! The “secret path” into downtown Torshavn is very useful but steep in places and dark on the way back — a shuttle to Steinatun would be nice though the distance is not too far. Small in-room fridge doesn’t really work to chill anything so keep that in mind if grocery shopping.

it’s a good location, not to far in the centre of the city but close enough to drive every day. comfy beds and clean bathrooms. a great view of the city although the fog sometimes covered it. helpful staff and good breakfast with a wide variety of food. big parking space

the window of our room didn’t close fully and there was always a crack letting wind in. it wasn’t a deal breaker for us but these things should be fixed. the Booking website advertised this as a “king size bed” but after the reservation the hotel informs that ALL beds are made up of 2 individual mattresses put together - false advertising here, not sure who to blame, the hotel or Booking.

Beautiful hotel with spacious rooms nicely decorated and furnished. Really classy. Moreover, the staff is very kind!

The breakfast doesn’t make you dream unfortunately. Mostly meat, dairy, average bread. No vegetables are used, no salads, no legumes. Moreover, if you come around 45 minutes before the end of breakfast time, most food will be gone and you need to ask for leftovers available. This happened consistently every day of our stay which points to a structural problem. Luckily, the staff was extraordinarily friendly, went the extra mile and tried to work their way around the situation. We don’t mean to portray the above in a too harsh way: The hotel is amazing, we definitely recommend it, but don’t go there in anticipation of a rich and varied brunch (and forget about it if you’re veggie or vegan).

I loved the simplicity of the hotel's design. It's modern and embodies the less-is-more concept. The room and bathroom were super clean, comfortable and well-equipped. I appreciated the details like locally hand-made soap 😊 the staff was friendly, helpful, and allowed some flexibility of services when needed.

The restaurant was closed and the cafe only offers bar snacks like cheeses, burgers, etc so we decided to get diner at Hilton, even though we'd rather have stayed at our hotel. Free coffee and tea in the lobby would be a nice touch, so that one can read a book there or just chill with a nice cup in hand. The tea that can be bought at the cafe is enough for literally 2-3 sips and costs 35 dkk.

Very scenic and quiet location overlooking Torshavn. Definitely need a hire car to make the most of it. Hotel interior very stylish and modern, lots of communal sitting areas to drink/sit/relax. Large and comfortable rooms.

There's currently a lot of construction work which spoiled the exterior slightly. Needs a sign by the main entrance as I drove past it twice. The service just lacks a few minor details that I'd expect for the price. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly but the breakfast buffet is very disorganized. The selection and quality is reasonable, although rarely changes. Items regularly ran out or got dirty until staff were asked, and they weren't pretty disinterested. A big queue for the toaster blocked the general entrance and flow of the buffet. They really need more staff as tables weren't cleared quickly either so it got cramped. Shame as the view from the dining room was lovely. Some biscuits in the rooms would also be a nice touch!

It's a 20 minute walk from the harbour and I suppose about the same time by car. View from the hotel is (therefor) great, so is the breakfast and recently the hotel has a superb restaurant ('Ruts') serving seafood and great vegetarian food. And the latter is rare on the Faroe Islands! Hotel is one of the older hotels but it's well kept. Only the bathroom shows slight signs of use. Stayed in this hotel a couple of times. First time was in 2015.

We loved the charm of the old hotel and found its facilities very satisfactory. Breakfast was fantastic and out dinners were amazing. Pickup by taxis and tour buses was very convenient. We will stay here again.

We found the path to downtown rather arduous and only tried it once. This was somewhat compensated for by the excellent view of the city and the harbour.

The sheep outside our window/door & all around the property. The annex we were in has been newly remodeled & was quite comfortable.

The main hotel where breakfast is served in the second floor restaurant doesn’t have elevators & looks dated & a little shabby.
