Holiday Inn Express Nanjing Xuanwu Lake, an IHG Hotel

Convenient to the metro. Had necessary amenities. First hotel that provided free water (rather than just 500ml) as advertised. Accepts foreigners.

There were marks on the shower wall that looked like the cleaning was not up to scratch. Location was fine for work but not that convenient as a tourist. Expensive hotel for what it was - most places I stayed around China were cheaper and better equipped.

it's was a very pleasant and nice stay. Breakfast was fantastic and diverse. Location wise it was great. You could walk everywhere and also take subway if you wanted. A nice neighbourhood very close to the lake. There was in the room an ironing board and iron for the clothing. That was a nice plus.

On the website it said that there was sauna, but that was not true or I couldn't find it. Gym was very small, but no one used it so it didn't matter.

I really liked the personnel who were extremely helpful. The location was also great

The weather was unusually cold for Nanjing, so it was very cold in the hotel lobby. Probably, it needs some back-up heaters or the doors should be locked to prevent the draft and save the reception staff from galling ill. But this is not the hotel to blame for such a weather

I liked the breakfast that was on offer and I enjoyed the room that I was given my stay, so on that basis I can be satisfied with the hotel experience

There wasn't anything to my knowledge that I didn't like or below par as it ticked all the boxes and provided me with a comfortable stay whilst I was there

Staff were very friendly and helpful. The front desk staff were always offering us cool drinks. Whenever we had an issue they responded right away. Example when we needed a new iron or when we forgot to order cutlery with our take-out. The cutlery was even delivered by robot! The rooms were quiet and the street noise was almost inaudible.

The pillows were nice and soft but a little too thick for me since I'm a stomach sleeper, and the hotel didn't have any other pillows. So my neck was a bit stiff.

Room is very very big, with 2 sofa, new colored trends very fresh, it was fitted with a humidificator and a heater (because cold weather and Covid so no AC). Very clean also. shower clean and with powerful warm water. Also water boiler and coffee/tea bags. Bus stop under the windows.

Nearly nothing, except due to COVID, Breakfast was very limited, and lobby looks old and sad, but it is not the main important point.

The breakfast was OK.

It was a bit far from the subway.

the location is good to visit the mountain area and the Xuanwu lake; around 40 min to south touristic area in public transport (underground is 15 min walk away); the personnel was nice and breakfast is good.

The sheets were clean but the room floor was very very dirty with tons of dust, the windows were super dirty too, that makes your stay a little bit unpleasant.
