Auberge Les Bons Matins

Adorably decorated room with balcony and private balcony entrance right in the heart of Montreal. Fantastic location - it's right across the street from Lucien l'Allier metro and a block over from the Bell Centre. Bell Centre is right off of Crescent street, the main strip with all the bars. This hotel also offers outdoor parking in the back, which requires you to drive around the block (because it's a one-way road) to access it.

I booked through Booking.com and the room was not accurately portrayed on the Booking website. In the images for my booking, the room looked to be like a apartment with a living room (couches) and fireplace. Our room did not have this. It was a single room with a bathroom (bathroom did have a spa tub though). The names of the rooms are also incorrect on Booking.com, which made it difficult to decipher what I actually booked when I got there. The room I booked on Booking.com was called the "Deluxe Double Room" but there is no such thing as a "Deluxe Double Room" on the hotel's website.

Great location, short walking distance to the closest subway station (two minutes) and many downtown venues (Centre Bell is one block away). Their private parking was very convenient if you arrive by car. The room/bathroom were comfortable, very clean and nicely decorated, with character. The breakfast was delicious and the staff serving it were friendly and helpful. WiFi and AV facilities were good.

Soundproofing between floors was subpar. The staircase leading to and the floor of the unit above us was creaking loudly when the guests staying there were just walking around (they were very quiet otherwise). So much so that one night this was making enough noise to keep us awake until well past midnight. If you are a light sleeper, ask for a room on the top floor.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect for exploring the city with the Metro station right across the street. Parking was available behind the building for $16CAD/day. The B&B was cute, clean, and well kept. Our room, bathroom, bed, and linens were comfortable. The dining room was cozy, and the cooked-to-order breakfast was delicious ($16CAD/person). The staff were attentive, friendly, and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

The rooms are not well insulated against sound, and we were able to hear the bustle in the kitchen above us in the morning. We were already up for the day, so it wasn't an issue for us but it could be for some people.

The advertised price was $165. I was charged $200. The website advertised breakfast included. There was no breakfast, due to covid restrictions. I get that but it should say it on the website

Very spacious, tastefully decorated, and comfortable. The owners communicated very clearly. We checked in late, so reception was closed, but we knew exactly where to go to pick up our keys and parking pass. Location was excellent. There was a shared kitchen with plenty of coffee pods and teabags which we appreciated (it was a full kitchen but we didn’t have a need to use the rest of it). Our only regret was that our schedule did not allow us to try the breakfast, which sounded wonderful. Hopefully next time.

there was someone staying above us and they decided to use the shared kitchen to get some hot. drinks around midnight. the sound travels easily, so it woke us up. but all I had to do was to go out and ask them to keep it down.

The place is such a comfortable and clean location. Everything you would need is available in a shared area outside your room (stove, fridge, freezer, microwave, coffee machine) and the rooms are well separated that it is quiet inside the room we stayed in. There was a cute breakfast option too however we did not end up eating there, but the setup does look great. The location is perfect in being centrally located and on a side street so less commotion.

Overall amazing. Small toilet issue however they did give us an alternative and told us they were also getting a new one installed the following day so there would be no issues for a future stay!

Everything was really nice. The building is peculiar: very colorful, and nice style. The bathtube was absolutely amazing. Breakfast is really good and abundant. They prepare it on demand, depending on what one prefers, and it is accompanied by freshly squeezed orange juice and infinite coffee. They can also prepare vegan french toasts (or regular ones), which were really good. The owner was also super kind, he explained in detail the map of the city and its highlights (as far as I can tell, he does that with everyone who needs that). This was very useful!

Small downside: air conditioning cannot be controlled from the room. It was a bit cold and noisy, I could hear it during the night. Also, the "bathroom" (shower, sink, bathtub) and the bedroom are in a single open space, without separating doors, which I found a bit unusual. Only the actual toilet was in a separare room.

There's so much to like about Auberge: The place is very conveniently located in downtown and has easy access to public transportation and yet you kind of feel like you are away from the bustle. We loved our room, which was cozy and quirky in the best way. I realize that the charm of the inn may not necessarily be everyone's cup of tea, but it absolutely suited our taste and I feel it will for many others. We took full advantage of the whirlpool tub! The inn feels like a family run business and the whole staff was so friendly and helpful. We didn't sign up for breakfast initially, but decided to give it a try one morning. Let's just say we went back for more! I recommend signing up for breakfast when you book, but you can always pop in after booking as well. It's worth it!

Kinda wish the fireplace used real logs, but I realize how difficult that would be to clean out every time after guests leave.

The room was so beautiful, nicely decorated, spacious, colourful and really special. The bed was extra-comfortable. Breakfast was amazing and the staff so nice and kind! Location just perfect, seconds away from the subway stop.

The room was not so efficiently acoustically isolated and unfortunately we could hear many noises from the trains passing very close to the building. Also, kind of challenging to transport our luggage to the room that was located in the basement since the stairs were very steep. We did not expect for our room to be located in the basement for the price we paid.

Nice design and decor, comfortable beds, stunning and large washroom. Loved the jacuzzi tub! Shared kitchen right outside our suite was handy. Convenient location, walkable to great neighbourhoods, right next to metro, and close to central train station. Tasty breakfast with good, strong coffee

Overall, everything was good. The only “complaint” was my nephew said he wished the bath towels were fluffier (lol!). One morning, at breakfast, we witnessed a manager criticizing a staff’s job performance, which I would have preferred not to see.
