Travelodge by Wyndham Port Elgin

Room was clean, comfortable and convenient. Liked having pool and hot tub on site and cafe restaurant but was only until 2:00. Coffee and teas in lobby as well as lemonade and cookies. Location is great, can walk to several eateries and stores. 5 mins to the beach by car. Most staff extremely friendly...especially female manager. We stayed a week so didn't ask for room to be cleaned.

Unit 24, queen room exterior. The AC unit was very old and noisy. It stopped working one day, went without for the night, repaired the next day but loud. Stopped again that night, called for a repair again the next day. Couldnt be fixed, brought us a portable one right away and gave us a free breakfast. Toilet seat was broken.

Travelodge is located at the main thoroughfare, Rd 21, with convenient shopping and other services nearby. The room was remarkably quiet, with parking at the door. I saw that the restaurant in the motel (that I did not use) was busy. There are a number of restaurants and eateries within walking distance.

For reasons unknown the internet communication by WhatsApp was poor. The sink in the bathroom could have been bigger, even washing hands there was awkward.

Compared to the small older cottages in Port Elgin, our Travelodge motel stay was an excellent option. Other than not being able to cook, everything else was great and more comfortable than an outdated UN-conditioned cottage. Having the onsite pool and whirlpool was a bonus asset. Front desk staff and cafe restaurant were very friendly.

I would mention though for the room to have more "hooks" to hang wet towels and swimsuits. And ideally it would be nice to have the parking spot located outside our room designated to the room number as it would make sense to park close to your motel room instead of open random parking.

I love this location to stay in Port Elgin.... Room is just simple and that is all you need..... Love the drink bar at the front ....as the coffee makers don't work in the room.....

I know you have new staff cleaning ...... But you don't need rooms checked everyday... If people are to put the little sign on the doors of do not disturb .... Or make up room ....... Make sure all rooms have them.... Also tell them on check in.... Please also if you in someone's room to make sure the door is locked..... Very important ......

This is where I usually stay when I'm in Port Elgin. It meets my needs. Close to everything, staff is friendly. This isn't luxury if that's what you're looking for BUT the pool is open late and the diner for breakfast is great!

the last 2 times i have stayed when I tried to check in at check in time I was asked to come back later. After a 4 hour drive the last thing I want to do is check in after the posted check in time

Beds and pillows are very comfortable. Fridge and microwave was a great asset to our stay. Generous types of coffee and tea in the lobby. Also the cookies and lemonade at the front desk was a nice welcome. We had an issue with our shower not draining but they sent someone right away to fix it.

Walls are pretty thin, so you can hear neighbours quite a bit. Also, the AC unit kept going off every 5 mins so we had to shut it off.

Amazing Long weekend.. Amazing place to stay... Pool and hot tub were great to have as it was cold and rain... Amazing place to stay to travel to all beaches.... Great places to eat in the area...Allan's fireside grill and The queens restaurant great restaurant to eat at .... Friendly staff and owner always able to help you . Will return again . Favourite place to stay in Port Elgin.

Parking could be better... Some bigger SUV should not park over side walks as people need to walk on sidewalks. Group of young people parked a big white SUV over the sidewalk .....Please remember people walk on side walks ..in to the rooms..... Maybe new painted lines would help...

The location is super. Close to the beach and many restaurants.

We were disappointed that the cafe for breakfast and the pool were closed due to Covid. Other hotels in town had facilities open

Great location, close enough to Southampton and Sauble Beach. The room was really spacious, with a drawer, a table with 2 chairs and a laptop desk. Waaaay better than in the pics. All was super clean, including the bathroom. The staff was super nice to us – we had last-minute changes, and they accommodated it. The front desk is a lovely and helpful person.

The A/C made a lot of noise when its auto-switch turned it on. So we made the room colder and turn it off throughout the night.

Comfortable beds and nice breakfast at Sunrise cafe.

The furniture and overall aspect of this property is outdated. They should definitely invest in new furnishings, renovate and remodel the place. There were also some shady characters around with marijuana bongs, and the smell of marijuana was lingering everywhere on the hallways.
