Saxony Motel

Breakfast was a bonus at the price I paid. Everything was fresh and replenished before it ran out. No it is not a five star restaurant it but a Lot better than leaving on an empty stomach. The location is very easy to find with convenient parking and easy access major roads, eating establishments, downtown was just a short walk etc.

Air conditioner was fine as far as keeping the room cool. It was running when I arrived on a very hot day but it is just a bit noisy. On the other hand the owner told me that more renovations were on the way. (I believe her as the property was quite acceptable and showed significant signs of improvement.

Good location; convenient to local dining and eateries. Well apportioned rooms including refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, work desk and additional al small table. Reliable wifi, and plenty of electrical outlets, including in the base of several lamps for charging phones and laptops. Great staff. Very clean. Quiet at night. great working AC.

Water pressure in shower was very weak. Only a single switch to turn the bathroom light on/off and the sink area lighting outside of toilet. Fan is loud and comes on when the light is on, so if you are one who likes to leave the bathroom light on and the door ajar so that you can navigate to the toilet in the middle of the night in a new/strange room, then the fan will be too loud to do this.

Functional budget hotel with all expected amenities and helpful staff. I enjoy the drive up room for easy unloading of cargo and it is a short trip with no stairs or lobby to contend with. The hotel has undergone renovations over the years and is looking more modern inside and out.

Nothing particular to report as I did not expect to find any amenities not listed on the online descriptions. Shower curtains could be a bit shorter :)

Our room was clean and in good condition. Air conditioning, hot water availibility and shower pressure were all good. The location was very good, with a Tim Horton's right across the street, a Subway located about a two-minute walk away, and an excellent restaurant right on the other side of the parking lot.

The refrigerator was heavily iced and in need of defrosting as it didn't keep our drinks and food very cool. The sink area is outside the bathroom, with its lights and bathroom fan activated by a common switch, so all the lights and the very loud fan came on at the same time, which interrupted the sleep of one person when the other went for a nighttime bathroom visit. It's a small thing, but it would hav been nice to have a separate switch for the bathroom lights and fan.

property was next to a nice restaurant with Timmies across the street. I liked that the rooms all have walk outs. we left at 7:40 am and breakfast was not out so not sure what time it started but for the price of the room I wasn’t complaining. I was very happy. I was lucky enough to get an upgrade for free and that was nice! will definitely be back!

The front desk staff member was friendly, polite , efficient and respectful. She also extended an upgrade from a queen to a king accommmodation. Our room was quiet, larger than expected and clean. We requested an end unit, which was honored and in addition, the staff member mentioned there would also be no other guest adjacent to us. So we enjoyed the privacy. The value was also fantastic.

The air conditioning unit didn't cool the room sufficiently although I will say, it was exceptionally hot and humid during our stay. The unit was very loud and we needed to turn it off to get to sleep but later, as it got more and more muggy, we needed to turn it on again. Therefore, our sleep was disturbed although we were able to rest enough.

I believe this is an older motel but the rooms were so clean. I always make sure the bathrooms are very clean and they were. Spacious room. Bed was comfortable and the beddings was nice and warm.

Just a personal thought about the Saxony. Lots on night movement from the second floor. I would suggest that customers take the second floor if they can. Really no major issues about the Saxony. Maybe extra shampoo.

Spacious, clean, well lighted and well maintained room. Also had spare towels a coffee maker and a hair dryer. There was a good desk and chair to set up as a workplace.

Occasionally, there was noise from neighboring rooms, sometimes at odd hours as well. The wifi was generally good but occasionally had weak signals causing drop in video calls.

I stay in motels all over Ontario during the year. The Saxony was the very best of all the ones I have encountered in a long time. The lady on front desk (owner I assume) was terrific, A+. The man (also an owner I assume) checked a minor problem with the remote and responded immediately. He was very professional and pleasant. Rooms are top notch. They are on par with or better than the most expensive chain motels. Everything any one needs is already there. Fridge, Microwave, Iron, lots of good towels, flat screen TV, hair dryer, comfortable beds, WiFi, Desk, good lighting. The rates are excellent as well. Anyone planning on staying in or near Chatham just needs to stop here. No need to check any place else. The Saxony is the best.

There was zero that I didn't like. Everything was great.
