Econo Lodge Inn & Suites Saint John

Location was very good to meet our two main needs. Cost efficient hotel near downtown Saint John (15 minute drive) for evening activities, and 10 minute drive to Nova Scotia ferry boat the next morning. Easy access to car from our room for loading and unloading gear. Room generally met our needs.

My wife pulled out the AC filter screen and it was thick with dust and mold, very disgusting to think we might have breathed that air had she not cleaned it. Breakfast options were limited.

This location is near the ferry from st john to digby. And its a good value.

Most of their guests are there because of the ferry from St John to Digby Nova Scotia. Guests have to leave the hotel by 7:45am. Their bkfst doesn't start til 8am. They don't even have coffee....not good I was checking in at 7pm (with prior notice). It took 10 minutes to for anyone to come to the desk. She never said hello, smiled or made eye contact. I felt bad disturbing her.

Our room was on the back side of the building with a nice view of the surrounding hills and the Bay of Fundi. We appreciated the table and chairs in the window of our room where we sat to talk and have drinks. The location was great for finding good food and other shopping.

The smell of disinfectant in the lobby was a little overwhelming. The dining room was a little small for the size of the crowd wanting to eat at 8:30. We got coffee and then found breakfast somewhere else. The server was very pleasant and doing his best to provide everyone with the food they were requesting.

Always convenient and clean. Staff are so helpful: when I cut my hand on my luggage, the manager found me a bandage! A pleasant and comfortable stay every time.

Truly, nothing to dislike. If you would like a suggestion for improvement, I would love to see recycling of plastic waste in the breakfast room, instead of guests tossing their plastic spoons and forks into the rubbish bin.

Excellent location with beautiful scenic view from room window. The location is very touristic easy to access and few minutes away from the main town.

Nothing major to mention. A 24 hours front desk service would be good in case of any important needs may arise to the guests. Front desk is closed after 10:30 or 11:00 pm as per my understanding and no one is available to contact.

Breakfast was ok, “ continental”. Our room was on upper level and had a pond view when it wasn’t foggy. Fridge microwave in room.

I was ok with but surprised that condiments at breakfast were not individual portions, a jar of peanut butter or jam rather than packets.

Very impressed with this hotel. Definitely an underrated gem in the Saint John area. Nice sized rooms, easy to find, close to downtown Saint John, clean, comfortable beds, amazing view, great breakfast included. Staff were friendly and helpful.

I am an an annual return customer precisely because this establishment excels in all the above categories. It is modest without being a dive nor does it have the extravagances that guests do not even use in more expensive chains.

I seriously cannot find anything to critique! This motel provides EVERYTHING a guest needs.

corridor lights on all night and were very bright shining through the side of the door and under it. Room quite bright all night. Sugggest less watt bulbs or every second or third light lit. Fortunately it was one night and we were tired, but not a straight-through night's sleep, as we had previously in another part oft he motel. The bag breakfast was very poor. No reason not to have advertised hot breakfast which on previously occasions was excellent.

This is the best hotel we’ve found so far on our trip round the Maritimes. We like comfort with convenience but without fuss. it hit the spot in every way for us, we both loved it. the manager made us feel welcome and, almost unbelievably, it was the least expensive place we’ve stayed at.
