Hotel Le Germain Calgary

Thé location would be difficult without the valet parking, but with it, it’s a great location. Room service was extremely efficient. I didn’t like the meat choices on the charcuterie platter, but maybe someone else would.

This was a lovely, luxurious hotel, and the experience would have been enhanced with high-end INDIVIDUAL amenities. I know it’s the trend to use the refillable bottles of soap, shampoo etc. to reduce waste and cost but YUCK! Who else touched that thing! Also, bathroom glasses with the room no. etched on them tells me they never leave the room. How are they washed? In the bathroom sink that has just had toothpaste spit into it?

Absolutely everything! The location was amazing, right across from the Calgary tower and close to Stephen Avenue. Hotel staff is so incredibly kind, especially Thomas. He was very patient and understanding while I was dealing with card issues upon check in. There were also two gentlemen, I’m so sorry I didn’t get their names but they were absolutely outstanding. I’ve never experienced Valet parking as on the ball as they were, they even took items to my car so I wouldn’t have to! The room was so much more than I expected. I’m so used to small and stuffy rooms that would cost a grotesque amount, but with this room I’m just blown away at how much space there is. I also love that the bathroom can be completely closed off for more privacy. I could go on and on with everything but these were the biggest things that stuck out to me.

Big room. we arrived early in the day so very early for check in. the desk clerk suggested we come back in an hour and a room would be ready and it was! gym facilities excellent with good view. the lounge waiter was excellent suggesting food and cocktails. he asked for an additional ingredient in a cocktail as it didn’t quite taste like a margarita and then when the bill came he had made the drink complimentary. Great customer service.

The location is downtown, so I could walk to all of my conference destinations in minutes. The lobby is comfortable with a lounge as well, so guests could wait for me in style. The hotel staff were AMAZING - anticipated needs and were so quick and friendly. The breakfasts were some of the best I've ever had in a hotel, and the restaurant downstairs had great, unique dishes as well. Lastly, the rooms are tech enabled - Chromecast full with directions to use it were available so I didn't have to use the firestick I brought! I will definitely stay here again when I come to Calgary! :)

The only thing I would suggest is smaller things; like the garbage can in the bathroom didn't work properly. Also, not sure if the hotel can cater to alternative diets quickly - I ordered decaf coffee and the second time they didn't have it available.

Toilettries were very good. It was also nice to have an in-house Spa in the building. Parking was available for a fee which was not too expensive considering the alternatives around the downtown area of the city.

It would have been great to have more variety in the in-house restaurant menu. The choices for lunch were very limited. But considering there are restaurants around the area nearby, this isn't a deal breaker.

We couldn't wish for a better location, right next to Calgary Tower. The hotel has a modern design, comfortable, well-equipped and soundproof rooms, amazing downtown views. The onsite parking is actually much cheaper, if you opt for parking by yourself instead of using a valet.

Breakfast buffet was very basic. I was surprized to see such a limited variety at such a price point. The finishing in the rooms, although modern, had signs of wear.

the only thing that was sub par was the tv service - the Chromecast setup on the tv and the tech with it only worked half the time. you need upgraded tvs and tech/internet in the rooms! also, fridge space would have been nice.

Great staff and service. Room and bathroom were very clean. Room was spacious and had a nice ambiance.

For such a reputable hotel and for it being a 4-star hotel, it didn't really feel like it. There were not as much amenities as I thought there would be. The only thing that made it feel like a fancy hotel was that were some high tech stuff, but the tv was average.

We had a 7month old child. The hotel did not only prepare the crib upon request but a bottle warmer, diaper genie and baby bathtub as well which was a total surprise. Also the staff were exceptionally friendly and late checkout was allowed without additional cost.

The room ceiling looked a bit industrial but that may be the design and overall the ambiance of the hotel was darker than expected. But very modern looking hotel.

The hotel is grand and beautiful. Our room overlooked Lake Louise with a majestic view! The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. We were surprised that the hot tub was indoors and would have preferred it outdoors overlooking the view. Our room was quiet except when someone was loud passing our door. We learned to curl and had a blast with another group and our guide Leah!

We would have preferred the hot tub was outside. The chicken sandwich at Alpine Social was lacking chicken and was hard and mostly fried batter
