loved the plantation style modern facilities . the beach club was wonderful too

overall I thought the food was overpriced and we were charged service and other taxes and gratuity multiple times.. initially while actually having a meal and signing on the receipt with the room number .. but then again when we checked out and actually paid for everything via the card. bad taste to charge twice for the same services !

Beautiful resort and the beach club was relaxing.

Food was pricey and you have to walk a distance from room to the pool/bar/restaurant/lobby without a golf cart, which has to be rented per day. Additional costs can creep up on you.

The resort is beautiful and the staff is friendly. There are places to eat on site, which is convenient. The amenities are superb, the private beach is quiet and relaxing and there is a restaurant/bar on the private beach as well.

The rental units have louvered windows (which matches the style of the area), but provide no sound dampening. We stayed in a garden cottage and you could hear anyone who walked/drove by and even sounds from the neighboring garden cottages/family cottages.

The private beach was beautiful and I liked the vibe of the restaurant and all the food choices.

The service could've been better. I got sick and asked for sparkling water, they couldn't help me in the middle of the night at 4 am. They told me to wait til 7 am until the restaurant opened. I was really sick and had no choice to wait, but even then no one at the restaurant answered til 8:00am and all I wanted was club soda.

Liked the room, people were friendly. Overall enjoyed our stay.

Private beach nice but overrated, very shallow water, boats to get there and back, not enough. Restaurants listed misleading times for closing, closed early. Lot of construction noise in area. Constantly had to ask for extra towels.

We stayed a week at the Mahogany Bay Resort I(October 2-9, 2021) in San Pedro and we really loved it. We stayed in the Upper Keepting Suite and it was spacious and had a small kitchenette but had no stove or microwave, just a fridge, some dishes, coffee maker and sink to wash the dishes. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was great, I did like the outside feel of the shower, which has a huge rainshower head, which was great. The hotel itself is very quiet in the south end of the island, which we liked a lot. We rented a golf cart for the week and that was great to go into town and to Secret Beach. Their beach club is beautiful and serene. The water is super clear, we rented an over the water bed for a day and it was great, I highly recommend doing that. They do have paddleboards and floaties available for free and the drink and food service was great at the beach club.The staff was great and they do provide cleaning service everyday if you'd like, but you need to request it. We requested it twice and they did a great job. We did use the coffee place they had on site called the Rum and Bean which had great coffee and humongous pastries, that was a lifesaver for our mornings. We did eat once at the Verandah restaurant for breakfast and it was good. We highly recommend to bring bug spray/ bug cream with high deet because the mosquitoes are vicious out there. Since the hotel is on a bay the mosquitoes are out more but with bug spray you should be fine. Overall, we loved the Mahogany Bay and would stay there again.

I liked the property overall, the different areas very nice and modern.

I didn’t like the misleading information about the private beach location distance, the fact that golf carts weren’t a suggestion and how they don’t have involvement either excursions (how they treat their guest). The internet and television didn’t work and the water wasn’t hot throughout the day.

Mahogany Bay was a beautiful property. Our suite was clean and comfortable. It was located a little ways from the airport, but still near plenty of restaurants, bars, and shopping. The pool area and private beach were amazing, and the staff was friendly and attentive.

The only complaint is that the website showed a suite with a completely furnished kitchen. That was not the case. When we arrived there was an ice bucket and one glass in the kitchen. I went back down to the front desk to inquire about this and was told other items were not furnished. I requested another glass and was told someone would bring one to our room…three days later upon checking out we had still not received a second glass.

Good stay, lovely private beach/island. You get what you pay for and the food is amazing, definitely not missing much from the culture in San Pedro. Also the drive to the city center is completely manageable we did it multiple times a day.

The roof makes rain very noisy and it is very hard to sleep. For some reason mosquitos seem to be worse here than the rest of the places we stayed on the caye but this can’t be at the fault of the property. Also the COVID test is a bit of a scam, they try to charge $25 more but this can be disputed if you pay the tester directly.

The food was great, the room was very well designed and decorated. The bed was comfy and I loved the shower setup. It was a great resort to relax at and if we were in Belize we'd probably stay there again. The private beach and over-the-water cabanas were incredible, definitely the most memorable part of the trip.

It was very expensive, and the food vendors outside only took cash, which we didn't have. Belize is just very expensive in general and it was either pay for the pricier hotel restaurant meals or rent a bike or golf cart to go into town to get cheaper food.
