The hotel was very centrally located and it was very easy to walk to all the main tourist areas of Ghent. The rate was very favourable compared to other similar hotels in Ghent. The breakfast was very good - lots of choice - continental plus bacon and eggs - and excellent bread and pastries. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and spacious with an excellent shower.

The beds were comfortable but very soft - if you like a firm mattress this would be an issue. Also there was not enough space in the breakfast room for all guests to eat at once - so you had to choose a time slot. This worked well on two of the three mornings we were there but on the Saturday there were too many people [perhaps some were not adhering to their time slot?] and it was difficult to find a table. Also the staff were struggling to replenish the breakfast items.

Location was fantastic, a couple of minutes walk to the historic centre. Breakfast was lovely. Everything was very good quality. The fruit salad was fresh, as were the cheeses, , lovely warm pastries. Leaf tea and teapots, great coffee. The staff at breakfast were subtlety attentive. A really good choice for singles, couples, groups.

Booking.com stated that the room had a patio. It didn’t and this annoyed me. There is a shared courtyard which isn’t what was stated when booking. I wouldn’t have booked the deluxe room if I’d known this. The deluxe room had robes and slippers which we didn’t use. It was an attic room on two floors, some people might appreciate this, it wasn’t ‘deluxe’ imo. Also, there was a coffee machine (nice) but got two capsules over a 3 day stay.

We booked a suite which was very spacious. Only downside was the room was overlooked the main road and opposite a supermarket and each morning we were woken very early when they were unloaded their pallets as they were very noisy. Also beware there is also a mosquito issue so go prepared!

Having to book our breakfast early which I did not see was in the information when we booked or when I enquiried about booking breakfast prior to our trip. The quality and choice for breakfast was not representative of the cost and very dissappointing. The quality of the coffee was also very poor as what the choice in the rooms. When we asked to cancel the breakfast on for the following days we stayed we were told we could not as we reserved this prior to our stay at a cheaper rate of 16 euros.

The building has a very unique atmosphere. It's a historical building which has been renovated, creating a special vibe through the hotel which really spoke to us. Furthermore it's on a 10 minute walk of the tram and 5 minutes of a very reasonably priced public parking. The staff was extremly frienldy and provide excellent tips on questions like "which is the best route by public transport" or "where can we go for a nice dinner date this evening".

On our first night the upstair guests decided to walk around alot and like throughout the night for which the staff did apolgise and explainded they were cyclist tourist that had to get up at 4 in the morning for participaticing in the tour of flanders that weekend. I don't know if they mentioned it to the guests but the second night we didn't hear a sound :) We had some issues with 2 power outlets (out of 6 so...) in our room but nothing that harmed the qualilty of our stay.

Loft room was absolutely stunning! It's great to see parts of the old architecture mixed with the new. Views overlooked the city, the bed was huge, and the rooms were clean, tidy and comfortable. Only a 5 minute walk to St Michael's Bridge and other main attractions. Quiet neighbourhood, though on Saturday night there was some noise from the street, but easy to ignore. Would highly recommend it for solo travellers.

Beautiful historic hotel in the city center of Ghent. All major attractions are walkable from the hotel and the neighborhood is very charming. Hotel room was very clean and renovated with thought of the historic features. Very friendly staff and great breakfast!

Because the building is pretty old, the insulation isn't great. We had some issues with our upstairs neighbors waking us up at 4am. The staff was very friendly and helped us, but unfortunately that didn't change the noise.

The room was lovely and was in a fantastic location. There was a kettle and tea and coffee in the room.

The breakfast was 22€ which was a bit too expensive for us so in the mornings we went to the shop over the road and bought a couple of croissants.

The room was in an annex of the hotel, which was across the road, this meant it was really quiet (great for sleeping), but you had to go to the main building for breakfast and any other services. The hotel is in a great location, the staff were really helpful and friendly, the breakfast is really good - including a self-service waffle machine.

The lighting in the room was quite dim and difficult to adjust.

Hotel, room, staff and breakfast was very good. Room and bathroom was very clean. Hotels location was very close to the historic city center. We will definitely come back.

We couldn't find any capsules in the markets for the coffee machine at our room. I think that brand is not very common in markets.

The location was perfect- very close to city center. The rooms in the new building (across the street) were very modern, comfortable and clean.

Would have been nice to have a fitness center. There was a very nice bar in the lobby, but it never seemed as though it was open.
