Mount Gambier Hotel

Staff are wonderful, food amazing and delicious....great set up for travel with a dog ...very tastefully done rooms.

All great, couldn't easily see if there was a wifi password, may have been a free unsecured option which I wouldn't use in any area/circumstances. Nothing to do with hotel, but other dog owners should clean up the mess so as to not give us pet owners a bad rep and be respectful and responsible for the pet friendly options we have. We clean up mess of a prev all pet owner to avoided this issue. The hotel very thoughtfully provide a secured area for pets to pee/poo with bags provided. Really no excuse not to clean up after your pet.

Loved everything! Extremely clean, fantastic staff, restaurant quality food, excellent facilities, sensational rooms. What a wonderful old pub. We were travelling in a group of 7 people and 3 little dogs and all of us loved our stay and can't wait to go back! We have told so many friends and family that if they are ever going that way that must stay at the Mount Gambier Hotel! We have stayed in many hotels and motels in Sydney and the accommodations in this hotel rival any of the better motels in Sydney. We also loved that the restaurant highlighted and served much local produce and wines. We found it outstanding in every way!

Only that we didn't get to stay there longer.

Everything. This property is outstanding. We’ve travelled world over many years and this place is just perfect. Obviously recently renovated, our room was enormous, modern, clean, double glazing on windows. Just perfect. Bathroom was ultra modern. It is a very old pub recently renovated but world class. 5 stars for an Aussie pub. The pub itself was above average also. Very good pub food and a professional approach to dealing with customers. Mt. Gambia surprised us a bit because it looks like the most/all the local pubs take a similar approach. Good parking and EV charging if you are unfortunate enough to have that liability. I’ve never given a review of a hotel this high.

Ummmmmmmm. The floor of the room was a little uneven… It’s an old pub. NOTHING!

Absolutely stunning renovation and very fitting with the style of the building and the town's heritage! Everything you need provided. The room was incredibly spacious and warm on arrival, and the bed was super comfortable. The restaurant's menus had great choice and room service was prompt and friendly. Loved the little vase with dried florals that came on the room service trays, beautiful touch! All staff I engaged with very friendly and helpful. Great service and the food was delicious.

Only a small thing, but was unusual to not have a face towel / wash cloth. As it was a Friday night, a bit of noise travelled upstairs from diners or gamers. Wasn't overly late and I'm a night owl so didn't bother me, but others might like to be aware. Quiet room with no other disturbances / noise from the street though!

Recently renovated so everything was sparkling and decor very tasteful. Our room was very spacious with a huge bathroom which included some thoughtful amenities with top quality Aesop products,plenty of fluffy towels. Centrally located across the road from the Art Gallery and other attractions the Mt Gambier Hotel was a great choice. The hotel offered Breakfast,Lunch and Dinner with a wide choice of meals and friendly service.

The only thing we could fault was the small step up into the bathroom which could be a trip hazard in the night. We used one of the very fluffy towels as a buffer and all was well.

I was personally surprised by the Mount Gambier Hotel. While the entrance area left me with a rather outdated and not quite clean impression, the room was the complete opposite. Spacious, clean and generously equipped, it was a pleasure to return there in the evening. The attractions of Mount Gambier are within easy reach by car, so my stay left nothing to be desired.

The Mount Gambier Hotel has its own free parking facilities as well as public (but payable) parking at the rear of the hotel. It would be good if the hotel could give you directions to these.

A very spacious and well set up room that met all of our expectations. The room was exceptionally well soundproofed so we were quite surprised how busy the hotel was when we stepped out to have dinner. A great spot for an overnight stay or catch up with friends.

The carpark wasn't quite as we anticipated. Whilst the parking itself was private and had CCTV coverage, the public would have been able to access cars overnight as there was no fencing or barriers preventing access to the space. An option for future improvement?

Great hotel! We were travelling with our dog and the dogfriendly rooms are massive - we were pleasantly surprised! Also, the rooms are quiet and you barely hear anything from outside which is helpful when you are travelling with a dog. The hotel is located in the centre of Mount Gambier so close to restaurants, bars and shops, and there's a huge parking lot right next to the hotel. The hotel has its own restaurant/pub, which is a little on the expensive side but they have a good selection of food and drinks - perfect when you're ariving late and can't be bothered to go outside.

The restaurant is a bit overpriced. Otherwise everything was great!

The room was very quiet due to double glazed windows. The room was very spacious with two comfortable lounge chairs which meant you did not have to always sit on the bed, plus a desk chair and plenty of room to put your suitcase. The bathroom was huge and beautifully appointed with excellent bathroom accoutrements provided. All in all it was an excellent room.

The bed whilst comfortable did have a slight dip which indicated to us that it was probably getting near to the time for an upgrade.

An amazingly beautiful space, bigger than we imagined, Immaculate, clean, fresh & modern 3.Great Location right in main street. 4.Close to everything 5.Room Service & staff, wonderful. 6.Amazing food & undercover, heated outdoor area that was pet friendly.

1.Booked through booking.com, paid for "pet friendly". However, when we checked in, hotel said we had to pay $40more as the booking didn't come through to them that we required a pet friendly room, they then had to check if they had available a pet friendly room to accomodate us, fortunately they did! 2.Room was located up 2 flights of stairs that were outside the building& it was raining - that is alot to carry luggage & a pet up. 3.Also to take our dog for a toilet visit in the middle of the night, down 2 flights of stairs in rain was dangerous.
