Mantra Hervey Bay

The view from the balcony of the Boat Harbor was wonderful, Location was close to restaurants. The one bed room apartment was spacious with plenty of room for two people.

We could not use the balcony all the time due to other guests smoking out on their balconies and the smoke and smell was over powering.

Room was perfect, lovely smell, extremely clean, view was gorgeous, shower was amazing, area was quite, close to Cafe and restaurants. Plenty of secure parking. Staff at reception were amazing and very friendly.

Pillows were a bit hard but nothing really to complain about.

We spent 4 nights here in a one bedroom apartment in Tower 2 & overall we enjoyed our stay. We had a 5th floor corner unit with partial views of the marina. However we also had views over rooftops to K'gari from the bedroom window & balcony. Our apartment was clean, attractively decorated and reasonably well equipped. The location was really handy for the whale cruises.

Secure parking is good but it appears there are not enough bays as we saw frustrated drivers going around & around trying to find a spot. We made sure that we didn't need to use the car later in the day in order to have a parking spot. The only other issue was the shower being over a spa bath which was difficult for us to to climb in & out safely (we're not as agile as we used to be!).

Location was excellent. Configuration of room was good and very much appreciated the walk in shower recess

Was ver disturbed at people smoking on the next balcony . We informed them twice that it was a Non Smoking Accommodation. Which they ignored !! Very upset for me as it was a getaway weekend prior to me having spinal surgery as I was in compromised health found it very disturbing. Plus it has been now legislated in QLD Government that smoking is now banned on all balconies. So maybe smoking detectors be placed on balconies.

The property is very tired and urgently needs a refurbishment. Facilities surrounding the property were great.

The shower over the bath tub was difficult to get in/out of - this needs to go. The bathroom was extremely tired and worn. Towel rack above the toilet around the corner from the bath/shower - stupid and not functional. Veranda was tiny- no direct sunlight to the veranda.

The Mantra was exactly what I expected. Room on 4th Floor in Tower 2 overlooking the Marina was lovely. Especially with the sun belting into the room on a chilly winter morning. Our stay was 2 nights in August 2023. Easy checkin in & staff really friendly & welcoming. Property is well laid out. The Beds are super comfy. The location is great, as you can just walk around to the different restaurants, ( "The Dock" ) is a must, Fabulous!! Also never having to get in the car for any reason during our stay. Our Whale watching boat "Freedom III" is a 2 minute walk The all day tour was spectacular & the perfect choice with lots of whales. We loved it here, so much we have already booked the Mantra again for Next year & will do the same tour with FreedomIII.

My only regret is we didn't stay longer! One small thing & certainly not a reason to complain, more attention to detail than anything. - I requested two single beds & whilst I understand this is purely on availabilty, when I checked in, I asked if they were able to arrange 2 single beds. They hadn't, however, house keeping was sent straight to the room to arrange this. so 10 out 10 for arranging it on checkin. Being in the Service industry, requests should be paid particular attention & actioned without having to ask, when it's possible to arrange. This is really being picky though.

The reception staff were lovely and very helpful even giving us a late checkout. Our room was on the 5th floor and was warm and cozy, given that it rained for most of our stay. We had a beautiful view of the marina and across to Fraser island. The kitchen was well equipped with plates glasses and utensils. We didn't use the oven or stove top during our stay. The care products in the bath room (body wash, shampoo and conditioner were a nice touch). Very convenient to have a washing machine and dryer as well. It was also very close to restaurants and not too far from a shopping centre with a Woolworths. I wish it had been warm enough for us to use the pool and the BBQ area as it looked so inviting.

There are only very minor issues, being probalby more personal preferences than anything. The loveley toiletries in the shower just need to be fixed a bit lower on the wall for us shorter people or children to reach without it squirting in the eye. The room needed to be aired as it had a musty smell upon entry each time when the unit was locked up (we did open the sliding door upon arrival to let the breeze through) Maybe a lockable security screen on the sliding door would aleviate the issue somewhat if you were only going out for a hour or so. And the water jug in the fridge had a lid that didn't poor straight and no matter how much I tried to get the water in the glass it sadly missed the mark each time.

The reception were able to change our room as the original room was small and dark with a tiny view obstructed by a Golden Cane Palm. The bed was comfy and the room was airy and sunny that we changed to. The spa bath was great. The location at the harbour was great with the Boat Club next door. Great spot to stay for whale watching tours. Some nice eateries close.

The original room allocated to us. Small and dark with no views. This was not obvious from the booking description. The phone to reception not working in the room. The decor is starting to date however is comfortable.

Great location. Staff were awesome. Secure parking. Good wifi. Great washing machine and dryer too. Our apartment had a wonderful view right over the marina. Reasonably close for a nice beachfront walk to cafes on the esplanade.

Our apartment needed a good clean. Dirty looking sofa, put over a spare blanket to cover it, then found old food on that blanket. Washed blanket ourselves. Then found lipstick on cushion. Glass sliding shower curtain wouldn’t move, had to rejig it’s wheels back on to track, then ok.

View & location to bars & restaurants,the room was much bigger than we expected as I booked a hotel room & it was more like a 1 bedroom size so nuce surprise compared to our last stay there

No tv in bedroom,no ceiling fan,king size bed which we love but couldnt get into wardrobe to hang clothes very easily or use full length mirror.There we dirty hand prints all over the slider doors out to the balcony which I had to clean as the view was so beautiful I had to clean it if housekeeping could watch that as it only took me 5 mins to do quickly ,if done peoperly with a squeegie & bucket would of been beta.Find it abit of a worry there no security anyone can walk in use the lifts & go to any floor as you dont have to swipe a card to use lift.Area is quite but might be needed to be looked at in the future,& would prefer beta undercover parking instead of just shade sails incase of hail storms which were forcast.
