Desert Palms Alice Springs

The resort is about 15 minutes walk from the town which meant it was fairly quiet. Although it was possible to self-cater, there is a golf course behind the resort with a club house serving reasonably priced food and drink and we also had a lovely breakfast in the Hilton next door to the resort. Both are open to non-members/residents. We enjoyed using the swimming pool on site and the laundry/washing line came in handy after all the travelling we'd been doing! The chalet was spacious with a verandah to enjoy a glass of wine in the warm evenings.

We were upgraded into a better room. The room was beautiful and spacious. Loved the kitchen facilities. Great check in. Super easy. Pool looked amazing but unfortunately we didn't have the time to take advantage of it. Would definitely consider staying here again.

The door between the sleeping area and bathroom was off it's hinges when we arrived. The receptionist however was able to come over and quickly rectify this for us. Should have been identified earlier by the cleaning staff when the unit was serviced though. Shame that there was only one chair at the small table to dine at when there were two of us.

The mattress was hard

The reception staff were very friendly and provided all the information I need to find my way around Alice Springs, the property, and most importantly somewhere to eat close by. The room was more spacious than I had anticipated and had everything I needed for my stay. Parking in front of my room was an added bonus. The balcony at the front of the room was lovely, especially in the morning, I could sit and drink my cuppa. A lovely way to start the day. The shower was great and I had a great night's sleep. I enjoyed my stay here and would definitely stay again preferably for a little longer than 1 night.

There was nothing I could find fault with.

this is an adorable and peaceful little property. the rooms are private and well sized with little kitchenettes and good bathrooms. the rooms can get chilly at night but the heater is great. each hut has its own little balcony and seating area. there is an on-site pool and laundry, both of which are great. it’s in a very quiet, private area and the from gate is locked at night for safety. it’s also very close to 2 restaurants and only a short drive into the town centre.

parking in front of the huts can get a little crowded when they’re fully booked but honestly, even that was fine with a little reverse parking.

I Love that the curtains can close properly and its private unlike some places I stayed with a huge gap between curtain and wall at the ends and can see the other rooms from your window when the curtains are closed. I especially like that I can buy simple food at the front office for a meal and a treat. saves a lot of stress getting food. And there are restaurants nearby too. But since I am only passing through, and somewhat Jet Lagged, I like to keep things low stress.

Id love a comfy chair or a couch in the room, there wasnt one. And I could not get any picture on the movie chanel. Dont know why.

We had asked for the room to be set up for 4 people ahead of time and they did just that. However rooms were smaller than we had envisioned so we just rented a second. We had just come from sharing a berth on a train and wanted more room. The staff was very helpful especially when we could not get the AC working. Turned out to be our error. The pool was absolutely wonderful as was the hotel location. Restaurant at the very nearby golf course clubhouse also quite good.

Really cannot thing of anything. If we ever return to Alice Springs we will likely stay there again.

The location was perfect. Walking distance to the the central city with shops, restaurants etc. While still being in a more secure and calm place. Furthermore, there was a small kitchen, comfortable bed etc. and very clean room.

We did not know how to turn on the aircon the first night and therefore it was completely freezing because it was around 0 degrees outside that night. However, we managed to figure it out the next day and there was no problem heating the room.

I arrived to a very friendly and helpful member of staff. Our room was very comfortable and the shower was delightful - it had great water pressure and the water was hot! It was a lovely afternoon when we arrived so we opted to sit by the pool in the sun for a while and read which was delightful. In the evening, we were recommended to have a meal at the Alice Springs Golf Club located at the rear of the property, which was a great recommendation. Thank you Desert Palms for having us.

Nothing!

Stayed here for 5 nights….Cabin huts are a great way to stay for us.. we like the cooking facilities with each hut in case we don’t wish to eat out on a night. The golf club at the back is very convenient short walk for dinner as well…. I have stayed here multiple times and been pleased each time!

Property was good, even though the weather was raining causing mud and puddles everywhere in Alice. No bad experiences.
